The two teens made their way to the local bus stop in dead silence. The awkwardness was palpable - someone had to do something...
"Sorry," Both of them uttered in unison. After mustering up the courage to speak following what had just transpired, the two of them came to the same conclusion, unfortunately, at the same time.
"Oh, um, I'll go first then", said Shin forcing an awkward smile. "Sorry about grabbing your arm so tight, that couldn't have felt nice."
'Why did I grab her arm so tight?' Shin thought to himself. ' I can still see the mark left on her wrist, what could have made me so emotional?'
"Nah, it's fine I ain't made of glass," replied Silver while adjusting her sleeve. "I just wanted to say sorry for talking to you like that and barging past you. That was really immature of me."
"Thanks, I appreciate it, but I understand where you're coming from. Reopening old wounds isn't exactly my favourite pastime," Shin chuckled.
'What am I going to say to Taiga? I didn't really think of a plan on what I was gonna say to him after all this time. I had planned on just speaking my heart out, but after what's already happened today I'm not sure that's the way to go. That's if Taiga even wants to see me, maybe this was a mistake.' Silver thought to herself.
Arriving at the bus stop, the electronic timetable said there were still five minutes left until the next bus heading to the mall would arrive.
'Shit, it's gone awkward again. Why isn't she acting like her normal boastful self? I'll never understand women,' thought Shin.
"What the hell is this guy's issue? Normally, he can't wait to make a fool out of himself for cheap laughs, but now all of a sudden he's Mr serious. I'll never understand men," thought Silver
"Now that I think about it Silver." said Shin.
"Uh-huh," replied Silver nodding her head.
'Finally, he said something,' she thought to herself
"Most of the time when you bully me, it's right before I have some sort of romantic altercation with a woman. I mean, Cindy Lowhan, prom, Becky was at the lake too...
You don't have a crush on me do you?" said the very stupid Shin.
"Have you lost your mind?!" exclaimed an outraged Silver. "Really?! After all that time thinking to yourself this is what you come up with? You're even dumber than you look. No, Shin I do not have any sort of romantic feeling for whatever this is." she said while pointing at the muscular boy. "17 years old and you're still wearing floral shorts that I would see Grandma GiGi wearing, all you do is wear that same Street Fighter shirt no matter the occasion - although I will admit it fits better than it used to, not that it matters because it's still hideous - and don't even get me started on your 'dyed' hair. I put 'dyed' in air quotes because your black roots are basically clamouring to escape and take over - you really need to head to the salon again."
"Awww, I love you too," said Shin, temporarily restoring the status quo as the bus pulled in.
'It fits better than it used to - huh?' Shin laughed in his head.
