The teenage is the time when there is a transition of physical, emotional and mental development from childhood into adulthood. Although teens have a strong desire to be independent but they need their parents the most at this time. As they go through physical and emotional changes, they are in a state of unrest. The hormones which trigger growth can cause mood swings and other behavioural issues. Self-esteem sinks and children become more conscious about their looks, appearance and the way they carry themselves. Parts of the body grow at different rates, so sometimes they may think that they look odd. Most often they have skin problems which are related to their hormone changes.
At this age they are convinced that whatever they say is right, but they fail to realise that there can be many different aspects of life and viewpoints of a subject. 'No one understands me' is their favourite phrase. They want to spend more time with their friends, and family becomes the least important.
They want to know the 'why' behind each and every restriction imposed on Chem. But what they need to understand is that these restrictions are made o help them grow into a wise, healthy and successful person in future.

(Why are you choosing commerce? You always wanted to be a doctor?
All my friends are taking commerce. I don't want to apart with them.)
7. At this age, teens are profoundly influenced by their peers. They seek approval, advice and even direction for their life from their friends. But remember, it is important to carve your own path. Friends will remain friends even when you have different professions. Friendship should not be a hindrance in choosing your field.
8. You may think that parents are wrong and they take you as a kid, but remember they have gone through your age. They know what the repercussions of steps taken in haste are. Rules and restrictions are a necessary part in upbringing of a child. These help you learning the ways of life and to become wise and successful.
