Chapter 14 - The Line You Shouldn’t Cross

The classroom felt different that day.

Heavier.

Tense.

Like something invisible had shifted.

I sat in my seat, staring at the desk.

But I wasn't really seeing it.

My mind was somewhere else.

"You became visible."

Those words kept repeating in my head.

Over and over again.

"…This is insane," I muttered.

"Still processing?"

Kiara's voice came from behind me.

I didn't even turn around.

"You think?"

"Relax," she said. "It gets worse."

I slowly looked back at her.

"That's not comforting."

"It's not supposed to be."

I sighed.

Great.

Just great.

I turned my attention forward again.

Luna was sitting beside me.

Silent.

As always.

But now—

That silence felt different.

Like she was holding back something.

"Hey," I said quietly.

No response.

"Luna."

This time she looked at me.

"What?"

"You said I became visible."

"Yes."

"So how do I fix that?"

"You don't."

I froze.

"…What?"

"You can't go back now."

My chest tightened slightly.

"Why not?"

"Because you already crossed the line."

"What line?" I asked.

She held my gaze.

For a moment—

Everything else faded.

"The line between normal… and not."

Silence.

That answer didn't help.

At all.

"What does that even mean?" I asked.

"It means," she said calmly, "you're already involved."

"I don't want to be involved."

"That's not your choice anymore."

I leaned back in my chair.

Frustration building up.

"This is ridiculous…"

"Is it?" she asked.

"Yes!"

"You saw it."

I stopped.

"…Yeah."

"You felt it."

"…Yeah."

"Then it's real."

I didn't have an answer to that.

Because she was right.

I did see it.

I did feel it.

And that was the problem.

Kiara leaned forward again.

Resting her arms on my desk.

"I told you," she said. "Things were getting interesting."

"You need better hobbies."

"This is my hobby."

Of course it was.

I looked at both of them.

Luna — serious, calm, hiding something.

Kiara — playful, but clearly aware of more than she showed.

And me?

Stuck between them.

"…This is a mess," I muttered.

"Welcome to reality," Kiara said.

"This is not reality."

"It is now."

I closed my eyes for a second.

Trying to calm down.

Trying to think.

But nothing made sense.

Nothing fit together.

Except one thing.

There was no going back.

No undo button.

No "this was just a misunderstanding."

This was real.

And I was already a part of it.

"…Great," I whispered.

"My life is officially ruined."

Kiara laughed softly.

"On the contrary…"

She leaned closer.

"It just got interesting."

I didn't reply.

Because deep inside—

I knew.

She was right.

And that scared me even more.
