Chapter 9 - The Boy on the Swing

Chapter 9:

Yuvan remained in the hospital for another day before he was finally brought back to the mansion.

Now, he lay in his bedroom, resting against the soft pillows. The doctor had strictly ordered him to avoid any strain, and Sebastian had taken those words far too seriously.

Yuvan was bored out of his mind.

Since returning, Sebastian had forbidden him from doing any work or even stepping outside. He was treated as if he were made of fragile glass, ready to shatter at any moment. While Yuvan understood the concern, it still irritated him.

This made him sulk.

So when Sebastian leaned closer, seeking affection as he usually did, Yuvan simply pushed him away.

Sebastian froze.

His expression slowly fell, disappointment flickering across his face when he didn't receive the expected affection.

"Did I do something wrong?" Sebastian asked softly, his voice carrying a hint of hurt — like a puppy that had been pushed aside.

Yuvan refused to answer. Instead, he turned away, folding his arms tightly across his chest.

Sebastian's heart sank further.

His expression resembled a scolded puppy, longing for attention.

"Wifey…" Sebastian murmured, his voice quiet and hesitant, as if he were on the verge of tears.

He could endure anything — danger, pain, betrayal — but he couldn't handle Yuvan's silence.

Finally, Yuvan glanced at him.

"I'm mad at you," he said, puffing out his cheeks in annoyance.

Despite his anger, he looked undeniably adorable.

Sebastian blinked, momentarily stunned by how cute Yuvan looked.

"Why are you mad?" he asked gently.

"You don't let me do anything. You don't even let me go outside," Yuvan complained, pouting slightly. "I'm bored… and I feel trapped inside all the time."

Sebastian couldn't help but chuckle.

"You're laughing?" Yuvan glared at him, clearly annoyed.

However, instead of looking intimidating, his expression only made him look even more endearing.

Sebastian's eyes softened.

"I'm sorry," he said sincerely. "Tell me what you want. Just… please forgive me."

Yuvan pretended to think for a moment.

"Hmm… fine."

His eyes brightened instantly.

"Make a swing for me in the garden. And plant some lavender… and baby's breath. I think they'll look good near the lilies."

He clapped his hands together, clearly pleased with his idea.

Sebastian smiled warmly, bowing slightly.

"As you wish, Your Majesty."

Yuvan giggled softly.

Next Day:

The following morning, a beautiful swing had been set up in the garden just for Yuvan.

He sat on it, gently swaying back and forth while chatting with a maid. The warm sunlight filtered through the trees, and the fragrance of blooming flowers filled the air.

It was peaceful.

Suddenly, a commotion broke the calm atmosphere.

Yuvan turned toward the noise.

A tall man with blond hair was striding toward him, his expression dark and filled with anger.

Cassian's POV:

I had been sent on a mission.

A mafia gang had stolen our cargo of weapons, and Sebastian had sent me to deal with them. It took longer than expected, and I ended up being away for three weeks.

When I finally returned, I received unexpected news.

Sebastian had gotten married.

He didn't even tell me. He didn't even wait for me.

I was furious.

After all, he was my best friend.

I refused to accept just anyone as my sister-in-law — or as my madam.

Determined to see if this person was worthy, I stormed toward the garden.

But the moment I entered…

I stopped dead in my tracks.

In the middle of the garden stood a swing, gently swaying in the breeze. And sitting on it was a boy.

He looked breathtaking.

Not too frail, yet not overly muscular — his physique was perfectly balanced.

There was an innocent aura surrounding him, as if he had never been touched by the ugliness of the world.

For a moment, I forgot why I had come.

I didn't know why… but an unexpected urge to protect him rose within me.

'Wait, Cassian.

You're supposed to test him… to see if he's worthy or not.'

I scolded myself internally.

I took a deep breathe and steaded myself.

You just wait I'll reveal your true colors soon.

---

Yuvan stared at the man in confusion.

Which somehow Cassian found him cute but he quickly shoke his head and pushed the thought out.

Just then Sebastian came out of the mansion.

He froze for a moment when he saw cassian.

"Why did you came so late. Were not you suppose two arrive two weeks ago" Sebastian said.

"It took longer then expected that's why" Cassian replied then narrowed his eyes.

"You got married and didn't even bother to tell me" Cassian said, clearly offended.

"It happand quickly. I didn't get the time to inform you" Sebastian shrugged.

Then he sat beside Yuvan's legs and started to peel a bowl of fruites for him.

Sebastian placed the bowl on Yuvan's lap.

"Eat the fruited wifey they are good for your health" Sebastian said lovingly.

Yuvan smiled and ate the fruites.

Then he patted Sebastian's head and kissed the tip of his nose.

Cassian who stood at the side was shocked.

His intimidating boss was being treated like a dog and he was even acting like a dog.

Seeing this, Cassian harden his reslove even more.
