Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

And he wasn't alone. His surbodinates were there. The man was no other person than Ian McKellen, Valerie's Childhood sweetheart.

He'd just returned from a whirlwind business trip abroad and had decided to grab a late bite at Le Ciel and meet up with some clients. His gaze landed on Valerie's flushed face and knew exactly what happened, and his expression ran cold. Mr Thorne recognized Ian McKellen, and he saw the subtle, chilling shift in the man's demeanor, the way he leaned in, the almost imperceptible smirk. Thorne's mind raced; he knew McKellen's unsavory reputation. Without a second's hesitation, he moved.

With a swift, Ian had Valerie in his arms and a cold icy the glint passed through his eyes like he was really ready to kill. Ian looked down to Valerie's face and an unknown expression flashed on his face. He summoned his bodyguards to deal with Mr. Thorne while his surbodinates slipped away as they know better to leave and not say a word about it to anyone.

He took her directly to the personal suite upstairs. He ever so gently laid her on the soft mattress. He caressed her hair while looking at her with a mixed emotions.

A gentle ray of sunshine☀️landed on an exquisite face. She looked too beautiful to look away but alas, there was no one to enjoy the view. A phone call woke the beauty up and she was quick to wake up with an headache. She held her head and fumbled to look for her phone without looking up at her surroundings. She picked the call and her assistant voice came through asking where she was, making her confused only then did she lift her eyes to scan her surroundings. She was confused at first and started thinking about what happened the night before. Her beautiful long eyelashes flew wide open thinking Mr. Thorne took advantage of her and a cold killing glint appeared in her eye. She looked at herself and found her clothes well intact. She called the hotel and almost all the employees and manager came running to her and she was attended to. She first of all asked for the footage of the CCTV camera. And her tense mood relaxed when she saw the familiar face and a gentle smile formed on her lips. She ordered them to bring her clothes for her to wear.

The hum of activity in the executive floor of Sterling Corp. was a carefully orchestrated symphony of productivity. Keyboards clicked with a nervous rhythm, hushed phone calls were made, and the air itself seemed to vibrate with unspoken pressure. Each employee, from the junior analyst to the department heads, was acutely aware of the time, and the impending arrival of her.

Then, the elevator doors hissed open.

No fanfare, no announcement. Just a profound silence that swallowed the office noise. Standing framed in the gleaming metal archway was Ms. Valerie Stero, CEO. She didn't stride; she emerged, an embodiment of glacial elegance. Her charcoal grey power suit was impeccably tailored, sharp enough to cut glass. Her hair, pulled back in a severe chignon, revealed a face sculpted by ambition and devoid of warmth. Her eyes, the color of a winter sky, swept across the room, not with curiosity, but with an almost clinical assessment.

She paused, her gaze lingering on a report left carelessly on a desk, then flicked to a team huddled in hushed, urgent discussion. A single, almost imperceptible tightening of her jaw was the only outward reaction. Then, with the quiet authority of a predator surveying its territory, she began to move. Her heels clicked on the polished marble floor, each step a measured pronouncement.

"Charles" her voice, when it finally broke the silence, was a low, resonant tone, devoid of inflection, yet carrying the weight of absolute command. She didn't raise it, but it cut through the room like a perfectly aimed laser. "Make sure to ruin Thorne's corporation".Her words light and simple but deadly.

Her gaze shifted, back from Charles to the documents on the table. Charles wasn't surprised but he kinda surprised Valerie. That....that has been done Ms. Valerie. Ooh. She was a little surprised but regained her expression. You can go continue your work. She said waving him out.
