They were in their final year in college, the year when all final years were eager to graduate strong. Zane and Ashley walked to the mall to get some new clothes. Zane had refused to go out in public before but Ashley reinsured him that it wouldn't be noisy and dragged him there by force so they could both go together.
While at the mall they encountered a guy and Geneva. Ashley smiled "Konnichiwa, Yui!". "Konnichiwa, Misaki, this is Blake". Blake smiled and gave Ashley a friendly handshake and the scene was seen by Zane.
His eyes burned with jealousy and he thought to himself "We were never meant to be anyway, so why am I feeling upset?". Ashley laughed at what the guy said. Zane not knowing what to say walked out of the mall.
Ashley noticed he was leaving and waved them both goodbye before running after him then she grabbed his hand "Zane, what's gotten into you all of a sudden?" He replied coldly "It's called... LIFE" he paused then added "and I don't think I wanna live in it anymore".
She was stunned by what he said and while she was still trying to process, he dropped the stuff in his hands and bolted. Since he was so tall Ashley couldn't catch up and lost sight of him.
For hours Ashley tried to reach Zane but it always went straight to voicemail. She got worried about her friend and felt uneasy.
She remembered his friend Keith that was in the same course as Zane an called him. When he picked up she cried into he phone and asked him frantically if he knew where Zane had went.
" I saw him in tears earlier and he was headed to the Jaje Cliffs". She was flabbergasted "Th- The cliffs?" Then he replied "Yeah, I couldn't tell if he was joking but he said he didn't wanna live anym-" she had hung up before he could finish his sentence and ran to the nearest flying bus stop angld got on the flying bus headed to the cliffs.
When she got there she saw him seated at the ledge and she called out to him "Takeo!" He didn't turn around but said "You know... I'm not supposed to be able to know what I'm feeling but for that period of time I knew I felt a pang of jealousy... I don't know if I'll ever find a girl like you"
Her eyes widened in realization before he continued "I can tell you like him... I don't know why but I've always wishes since we were little kids that one day... We could be more to each other..."
Tears filled her eyes "I don't like Blake! That was only a friendly gesture! I love you..." Her whole body tensed up...
