Chapter 94
GEORGIA'S POV
The moment I saw her slumped at that terrifying, unnatural angle, I bolted to her side. Her glasses had skidded across the floor and shattered; I couldn't help but wonder how violently she must have hit the ground.
"Lady Maddison! Lady Maddison!" I shouted, desperately checking for any sign of life. She was completely unresponsive, out cold. I pressed my ear to her chest, holding my breath until I heard it—the faint, steady thrum of her heart. She was still with us.
I scrambled up and sprinted for the door.
"Help! Lady Maddison has collapsed!" I cried out. The maids stationed nearby rushed in, and together we tried to lift her. She was heavier than she looked, and we struggled to maneuver her out of the room.
