The news hit Daniel Williams like a storm.
The police later told him what had happened. His little sister, Eva Williams, had jumped from the upper floor of their apartment building.
Daniel couldn't believe it.
Why would Eva do something like that?
She was only in sixth grade. She was cheerful, kind, and always smiling.
For the next two or three days, Daniel barely spoke to anyone. He stayed in his room most of the time, staring at the ceiling or sitting silently on his bed.
The house felt empty without Eva's laughter.
Daniel kept remembering his dream.
Help me… Daniel…
The words echoed again and again in his mind.
One evening, someone knocked on the door.
It was his uncle.
His uncle sat beside him quietly for a moment before speaking.
"Daniel," he said softly, "there is something important I need to tell you."
Daniel didn't respond.
"This is a secret your father told me long ago," his uncle continued. "He said I should only tell you when the right time comes."
Daniel slowly looked up.
"What secret?" he asked tiredly.
His uncle took a deep breath.
"Our family… is not ordinary," he said. "For generations, we have been Ghost Killers."
Daniel stared at him in shock.
"Ghost… killers?" he repeated.
"Yes," his uncle said seriously. "We hunt and destroy evil spirits that harm humans."
Daniel suddenly stood up angrily.
"Stop it!" he shouted. "Ghosts don't exist! And I'm already depressed. Don't lie to me or make jokes about things like this!"
His uncle remained calm.
"I'm telling you the truth," he said. "Your father was one of the greatest Ghost Killers our family ever had."
Daniel froze.
"There are ranks among Ghost Killers," his uncle continued. "Your father had reached the first rank. He was strong, brave, and respected."
Daniel's hands slowly clenched.
"My… father?" he whispered.
"Yes," his uncle said. "And one day, you will also train to become a Ghost Killer."
Daniel shook his head.
"No… this is impossible…"
His uncle didn't argue anymore. Instead, he quietly took out a small folded slip of paper and placed it on the table.
"When you're ready," he said, "read this."
Then he stood up and walked toward the door.
Before leaving, he said one last thing.
"The truth will find you sooner or later, Daniel."
The door closed.
Daniel sat alone in the silent room.
He didn't believe a single word his uncle had said.
Tears rolled down his face as he thought about Eva again.
Hours passed.
Then suddenly, his eyes fell on the table.
The small slip of paper was still lying there.
Daniel slowly stood up and looked at it.
For a moment, he hesitated.
Then he reached out his hand toward the slip.
What do you think what will next happen will daniel go to uncle or don't belive in the ghost killer.
