Chapter 4 - Training

The large iron gates slowly opened, and Bill drove the car inside.

Daniel looked out of the window in amazement.

In front of him stood a massive castle, surrounded by tall towers and thick stone walls. The place looked ancient, powerful, and mysterious.

"This place is called Nightfall Kingdom," Bill said calmly.

Daniel stepped out of the car and looked around.

The place looked like a small hidden city.

Bill pointed around the area.

"Everything Ghost Killers need is here — hospitals, schools, training grounds, libraries, and living places."

They walked deeper inside the castle.

Near one of the rooms, Daniel noticed a boy standing beside the door. The boy looked extremely nervous and was talking to himself.

"I'm going to become a Ghost Killer… but the training is very hard," the boy said anxiously. "We have to train every day. It's going to be so difficult."

Daniel quietly smiled because the boy was saying exactly what Daniel himself had been thinking.

Soon Bill and Daniel entered the room.

Inside, a middle-aged man was sitting behind a desk.

Bill greeted him.

"Hello, Finn."

The man looked up. His name was Finn Foster, one of the Ghost Killer trainers.

Bill said, "Finn, this is Daniel Williams."

Finn suddenly stood up in surprise.

"Williams?" he said. "Really? A Williams came this year?"

He looked very excited.

"That's wonderful. Your father was one of the greatest Phantom Knights."

Bill then asked, "How many students arrived this year?"

Finn replied, "Only two students."

"Two?" Bill asked.

"Yes," Finn said. "Daniel… and one more boy."

Finn called the other student.

A moment later, the same nervous boy from the hallway entered the room.

Finn introduced him.

"This is David Smith."

Daniel nodded politely.

"Hello."

"Hello," David replied nervously.

They introduced themselves to each other.

Bill then looked at Daniel.

"Well, Daniel," he said, "this is where your training begins."

Then Bill left.

Finn Foster looked at both boys.

"Since today is your first day, I will explain everything first."

He explained the life of Ghost Killers and their duty to destroy dangerous spirits so normal people could live peacefully.

Then the training began.

The Hard Training

Finn took them to the training ground behind the castle.

In the center of the field was a thick iron bar.

Finn pointed toward it.

"Your first task," he said, "is to break this iron bar."

David stared at it in shock.

"That thing is thicker than my arm!"

Then he whispered to Daniel,

"Wait… this is our first day! Why are they making us train so hard already? They should tell us to go to our room, sleep under a blanket, and start training tomorrow!"

Daniel laughed.

"This is Ghost Killer training," he said. "Not a vacation."

Daniel stepped forward and punched the iron bar with all his strength.

CLANG!

The loud sound echoed across the training ground.

But the moment his fist hit the iron, Daniel quickly pulled his hand back.

"Ow!"

His hand had turned bright red.

David looked at his hand and suddenly started laughing.

"The bar almost defeated the great Ghost Killer!"

Daniel looked at his hand and started laughing too.

Finn Foster shook his head.

"Laugh while you can," he said seriously. "Because this is only the beginning of your pain."

After many powerful hits, the iron bar finally cracked in the middle.

But that was only the start.

For the next three to four days, the training became extremely difficult.

Every morning before sunrise, they had to run long distances through the mountains.

After that, they had to climb tall stone walls without ropes.

Then they practiced weapon training, swinging heavy swords hundreds of times until their arms trembled with pain.

At night they fought moving targets that attacked suddenly.

Many students collapsed from exhaustion.

But Daniel and David kept training.

Finally, the day of the training exam arrived.

What do you think will daniel and david able to pass training test easily or they'll face so much problem ?
