And now ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to reveal the real culprit. The man who killed Edward Stoneheart.
And this man... no, this monster, this vampire who hides among us, will have his identity revealed and his crimes will finally see the light of day.
"Tommmy! Wake up! "
This monster, this creature of darkness that hides between us, pretending to be human, pretending to be a man, will finally have its true nature exposed to everyone!
"Tommy!!! "
The identity of the murderer is...!
"Tommy! "
The murderer, the monster that hides between us is...!
"Tommy! "
The vampire who is present in this room here and now with us is...!
"TOMMY!!! "
"Ah? " Half sleepy, Tommy opened his eyes and woke up from his sleep after hearing a scream.
Damn, so close... But I'm sure it was the butler, it's always the butler...
Tommy didn't remember much of what he was dreaming of a short time ago, but he was sure it was something that involved vampires, detectives and murders.
"Good morning! "A childish and lively voice caught Tommy's attention.
Looking to his side, he saw Tyler with a big smile on his face and still in his pajamas and with his messy hair.
Tyler was Tommy's younger brother, a sweet and innocent 8-year-old child who could be incredibly annoying when he wanted to. Well, all the children were annoying, especially for Tommy, who couldn't stand children.
Would it be hypocrisy for him, a 13-year-old boy, to say that he hates children, if he himself is also a child? Probably yes, but Tommy didn't care.
But going back to Tyler, Tyler had brown hair and eyes of the same color he pulled from their father. In fact, Tommy was the only one of the brothers who had drawn some traces of their mother, the rest had more traces of the father.
"Good morning Tyler" Tommy yawned while rubbing his eyes "What are you doing in my room? "
"I'm waking you up! " Tyler said as if that was the most fantastic thing in the world.
That childish animosity made a smile appear on Tommy's face. A little happiness in the morning was good for your health.
"Thank you, captain obvious. But why did you come to wake me up so early? " Tommy asked.
Looking at the clock on the wall, he could see that it was 6:02 in the morning. Tommy usually woke up around 8, and he knew that if it wasn't for Tina, Tyler would keep sleeping until noon.
"No reason. I just woke up early and decided to wake you up too " Tyler replied as if that was the most normal thing in the world.
He had woken up early and decided that he would wake up his older brother, this in his head sounded like something completely normal. For Tommy, Tyler was just interrupting his sleep for no reason.
For a few moments, Tommy thought about kicking Tyler out of the room and going back to sleep, but then remembered that he had an important issue to solve.
The creature.
He promised himself that he would find and bring down that creature before the guardians did. And he bet on himself that he would do it in less than a week, so waking up early might have been a good idea.
After all, the bird that wakes up early catches the worm.
"Okay" Tommy sighed as he got out of bed "I'm awake. Now get out of my room "
"But..."
"Get out of my room" Tommy said calmly as he began to push Tyler out of the room "See you later".
"Bye" With these last words, Tommy closed the door in Tyler's face and went towards his computer.
Time to research some things.
What was the meaning of the word happiness?
No. Let's ask a more important question: what is happiness?
For Tommy, happiness was the first thing he felt whenever his mother cooked for him. Like now.
It was almost 10:30 in the morning, and Tommy was sitting at the table having breakfast made by his mother.
"Tommy, dear, try to eat more slowly or you may end up choking" His mother said with her usual gentle voice.
Tommy's mother, Diana, was what is still considered a standard of beauty that is difficult to achieve. A blonde woman with long hair, green eyes, white skin and a sweet smile that seemed to bring peace to the people around her.
And luckily, Tommy inherited almost everything from her, except the smile. Tommy didn't smile much. At most, maybe a small smile that disappeared in a matter of seconds.
"Okay," Tommy replied with his mouth full.
"And don't talk with your mouth full" Diana said
This time, Tommy just nodded in response.
On the other side of the room, Tyler and Tina were watching TV with their father.
Tina was Tyler's twin sister, and they were extremely identical in everything but personality.
His father, Nathaniel, was a man already in his 40s with brown hair and eyes, traits that most of his children ended up inheriting.
In fact, he wasn't even watching the movie. He was practically sleeping on the sofa in the living room while the younger ones watched some children's action movie that was playing now. It was a very funny sight.
" Where are Helena and Sophia? " Tommy asked after finishing eating.
" Helena spent the night at a friend's house and Sophia went to Isabella's house earlier today," Diana replied.
"Ah" That was the only answer Tommy gave.
Recently, since she entered college, Tommy could no longer talk so much with Helena. Which was kind of sad for him, because she was definitely his second favorite person in the city.
The first one was obviously Sophia.
But maybe he could talk to her later, maybe he could if he came home a little earlier. Of course this would harm his investigation, but he would make an exception only for Helena.
"Well, I'm leaving," Tommy said, taking his skateboard.
"Where are you going, dear? " Diana asked worried.
"I'm going to the skate park with some friends" Tommy lied with the most neutral face in the world.
Diana's face practically lit up with joy. But before she could say anything, Tommy simply left without saying anything else.
That was obviously a lie, Tommy wasn't going to the skate park. In fact, he was going to investigate the places where the guardians were killed.
After a long and exhaustive research, Tommy managed, more or less, to triangulate the area of the attacks.
Well, triangulate was a strong word. He had only investigated the place where the guardians were killed and saw that they were all in or around a certain area: Guz Street 409. Ironically, the area where his school was.
Lucky me…
