" I'm at home "
"You arrived early cousin" A female voice greeted Tommy as soon as he got home.
Tommy was a little surprised, because he didn't expect to find her at home so soon.
Who was the "her" in question? His cousin, Sophia.
Sophia, like Tommy, was 13 years old, and curiously, the birthday of the 2 was in the same month, only a few days apart.
Sophia had brown hair, blue eyes and a skin tone a little lighter than Tommy. The two were almost like best friends, being basically the polar opposite of each other.
While Tommy didn't really like to socialize or interact with others in general, Sophia was much better than him and anyone he knew in that specific area.
"Shouldn't you be in swimming class? " Tommy asked checking the time.
It was 3:37 P.M. Sophia had swimming classes that started at 3:40 and ended at 5. Normally, around this time, she shouldn't be at home.
"I decided not to go" Sophia just shrugged without caring much "And you didn't have some kind of book club or something like that?"
"I decided not to go," Tommy replied, starting to go up the stairs towards his room.
"Ah! " Sophia made a dramatic and very exaggerated gasp " ditching activities cousin? How disappointing coming from you "
"Shut up" Tommy answered loud enough for her to hear.
At the top of the stairs, there was a corridor with several doors that led to the rooms of all the members of the house. Tommy's room was the first door on the left.
Entering his room, Tommy was greeted with an environment that he was very used to.
The room was far from simple. The room was painted white and green, strange colors to be mixed, but that he had chosen himself. It made the environment more comfortable in his view.
There were also two shelves in 2 corners far away from each other. A shelf was full of books, most of which Tommy had already read in his spare time. And they were mostly science fiction books, fantasy or horror tales.
The other shelf was full of games. Yes, it was a shelf full of all the games Tommy had, games of most of which he had already finished and were now just part of his huge collection of games.
There were games of all kinds there. Adventure, investigation, romance, visual novels, etc. As said before, Tommy was a great game addict, and enjoyed all kinds of games equally.
His bed was next to the game shelf. One big enough for 2 people, maybe 3. Next to the bed, there was a small trash can and next to this trash can there was a save point.
Next to the bedroom door, there was a computer table with a state-of-the-art PC connected to Tommy's playstation.
This was Tommy's room, his sanctuary of games and silence, where no one could disturb him.
... Well, maybe just Sophia. Or Tyler. Or Tina. Or Helena. Or his parents...
Tommy put his backpack inside his closet and went straight to the PC. He had some things to research.
Going straight to Google, Tommy searched for creatures with the same characteristics as the creature that had killed him before. Unfortunately, his research led to nothing because there was no creature with the characteristics he had researched.
Well, tough luck. But that was no longer Tommy's problem, but problem of the next person who would find that creature. After all, it wasn't his fault that there was a creature in the city and it wasn't his fault that it was going to kill someone in his place.
This was now the problem of the guardians and the creature's next victims. Not his.
With that in mind, Tommy decided to do something more productive: play one of his new games. And after some time searching, he finally found the perfect game.
Machina Hell.
An adventure, action and exploration game focused on battles against giant monsters and extraterrestrials using giant robots. The perfect game to play on your free time and enjoy your day.
And also a game that Tommy hadn't played yet. Perfect to waste a few hours of his day. After all, today was Friday.
He had all the time in the world. In fact, he always had time.
6:30 pm. Tommy had already finished Machina Hell and now he was in the living room watching a movie with Sophia. A romantic comedy of extremely dubious quality.
"Where are the others? " Tommy asked a little worried.
Neither his parents nor his siblings had returned yet. All of them, including Tommy, had extracurricular activities that consumed a significant part of their time during the week, but usually they were always home before 6 pm.
His parents used to be later, but his siblings should have arrived home by now.
"Oh, didn't I tell you? " Sophia suddenly seemed to have remembered something important " They all went to the wedding of a distant cousin of ours "
"Oh! Why didn't they wait for me? "
"Because you don't like parties, weddings, large spaces or places with many people," Sophia replied with a small laugh at the end.
" Fair " Tommy replied returning to focus on the movie "When they will be back? "
"Sunday night"
"Good"
A little silence might be good for him during the weekend. Although his already missing everyone, a few days just with Sophia might be fun.
Also, with a strange creature in the city, maybe it would be better if they weren't there. Perhaps the guardians were able to deal with this creature during these that his family was away.
"So, what are you going to do during the weekend? " Sophia asked looking at Tommy.
"Ah? " Tommy was taken by surprise with that question.
"What are you going to do during the weekend? " Sophia repeated the question while rolling her eyes.
Tommy was thinking deeply if he really had anything planned for the weekend. He kept thinking, and thinking, and thinking...
The truth is that he had nothing to do during the weekend. Apart from playing a few more games and finishing reading some books, he had nothing that could be considered a plan for the weekend.
He didn't have any extracurricular activities during the weekend, so no, he had nothing to do during the weekend.
"Essentially nothing," Tommy replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"Great! " Sophia said with a smile " So tomorrow you go with me and my friends in the city center "
"Why? " Tommy was now curious about what would be in the city center tomorrow. He was terrible with dates, holidays or simply calendars in general. Side effect of having an ability that messes with time.
"A famous explorer will come here tomorrow"
