Marella was stunned to see more and more creatures like the man swimming inside the building, while the man continued to carry her to a place she did not know. Finally, they arrived at a large door guarded by two cold-faced Sirens. Without hesitation, the man carried Marella into a Throne Room, where a Siren with a sharp gaze sat on the main chair.
Beside her, an elegant female Siren stared intently at Marella as she entered the room. All the occupants of the room focused their attention on Marella, or perhaps on the man who had helped her swim. However, their stares made Marella feel uncomfortable, especially in such a tense atmosphere. The man stopped in front of the throne and immediately bowed respectfully. Marella remained standing stiffly without bowing, but the man pulled her down so she would bow too. "He—" Before Marella could voice her protest, the man quickly covered her mouth with his hand.
"My respects, Father," he said to the figure sitting on the throne.
"Who have you brought, Prince Eldoris?" asked the man in a deep voice. So, the man beside him was named Eldoris. It was an interesting and handsome name, although for some reason it reminded Marella of the name of a fish from the movie Finding Nemo.
Eldoris replied, "She is a siren child who lost her mother, Father. I beg your permission to care for her until she finds her mother. Perhaps her mother is a traitorous siren who disappeared at the border between Mermaid and Siren, but what is clear is that this girl is not a threat because she cannot even swim yet," said Eldoris, even though she was actually lying to her father, King Bvior, ruler of the deep sea and the sirens.
King Bvior stared at Marella with a sharp gaze. Compared to Eldoris, Marella did look like a 14-year-old girl, but that was not the main reason for his doubts. "So, that's why you brought her here? Are you sure she's a siren?" asked King Bvior. His doubts arose because Marella's aura was different from that of sirens in general, which was dark and gloomy. Her bright blonde hair, as bright as the sun, only reinforced his doubts. Eldoris had expected this to happen. Therefore, she asked her servant to find a skirt that could cover Marella's pink and blue tail so that her father would believe her.
"Father, trust me, I have never disappointed you," Eldoris said with confidence.
King Bvior sighed briefly. "All right, just until we find out who her mother is. Whether she really is a traitor. After that... you know the rules, Eldoris," said King Bvior, making Eldoris feel relieved.
He bowed his head respectfully. "I understand, thank you, Father. Allow me to withdraw," said Eldoris as he straightened up. King Bvior smiled and nodded, giving his son permission to leave. Eldoris turned around, escorting Marella out, leaving the throne room with several strange looks from the audience.
"I felt something when that girl entered. Not entirely a Siren, but not entirely a Mermaid either," said Queen Avaor, watching them leave with a serious look.
King Bvior was silent for a moment before replying softly, "It's as if something is mixed up, chaotic, unbalanced," he said casually, even though his response drew disapproving glances from the royal advisors.
"But how could Your Majesty allow Prince Eldoris to take her away without further investigation?" asked Johbe, the royal advisor, with a tone full of astonishment.
King Bvior smiled thinly, his eyes fixed on the backs of the two figures as they grew more distant. "If that girl is truly important, she will reveal who she is in the near future," he said calmly, before continuing in a cold tone, "and because she is not even capable of swimming freely in the Siren's territory."
Queen Avaor turned her head. "Eldoris never cares about anyone, but today there is something different in his eyes.
King Bvior said coldly, "We will continue to watch them silently.
Outside, Marella struggled, causing Eldoris to release his hand from covering her mouth. "How dare you!" Marella exclaimed loudly, causing Eldoris to quickly cover Marella's mouth again, worried that she would attract the attention of others.
"Be quiet or I'll eat you," Eldoris threatened sternly, which was immediately met with a obedient nod from Marella accompanied by a peace sign. Eldoris finally removed her hand from Marella's mouth.
"Huh," Marella punched Eldoris' muscular stomach with all her might, but her punch had no effect, feeling like a light touch on Eldoris' skin. "You! How dare you call me a lost child and accuse my mother of treason!" Marella grumbled angrily. It was true that she was lost, but she was no longer a child.
Eldoris just chuckled softly. It was the first time the siren crown prince had laughed, even if only briefly. "Then what should I have said? A mermaid child? Do you want to be killed by the sirens?" he asked, making Marella shake her head quickly.
"There's no way I could be killed. But why do sirens and mermaids seem to be enemies? Do they really hate each other?" Marella asked curiously, because it was clear that the sirens, including Eldoris, disliked and even seemed to hate mermaids.
Eldoris shook his head slowly, surprised that the mermaid before him did not know the history of her own race. However, seeing the sincere curiosity in Marella's bright blue eyes, he finally decided to explain. "Thousands of years ago..."
Blresseise was a creature that was half mermaid and half siren. Her appearance was terrifying, with pale gray skin, a dark black tail mixed with maroon red, and a tail tip with sharp, irregularly shaped fins. Unlike a normal siren, her tail was black with a long, torn section. Her hair is pure black, her eyes are empty and expressionless black with a long scar extending to her forehead that makes one of her eyes white, and her hands are covered with large membranes with sharp blackened nails, matching the descriptions of mermaids and sirens engraved on their respective stones throughout history. Blresseise was born with a disability as a result of a forced relationship between a mermaid and a siren who did not love each other. Following the orders of the siren queen and the mermaid king, Blresseise's parents were forced to marry to refute rumors that sirens and mermaids could not be together. However, the result was a disabled offspring like Bleresseise.
As a result of this incident, the mermaid king and the siren queen, who truly loved each other, had to part ways to prevent the birth of another disabled offspring. Somehow, Blresseise gained magical powers and became the ruler of the Bermuda Triangle. She held a deep grudge against the king and queen, cursing them to become two beautiful crystals of different colors, and cursing each of their reincarnations to lose their true love.
Marella blinked her eyes, mesmerized like a child listening to a bedtime story from her mother. "So, one of them is your ancestor?" Marella asked curiously. If one of them was a siren, then Eldoris was a descendant of that siren queen.
Eldoris nodded calmly. "Since then, every mermaid and siren who forced their love would meet a tragic death at the hands of Blresseise," Eldoris explained, remembering an incident several years ago, when a mermaid and a siren who forced their love suddenly disappeared without a trace.
Marella propped her chin on her hand, thinking for a moment. "So, Blresseise is evil?" she asked curiously.
Eldoris nodded slowly, his expression still betraying his doubts. "But she's not entirely to blame. The ones who are truly at fault are the king and queen; they care too much about themselves," said Marella, her tone full of disapproval. She understood how Blresseise felt because she knew that Blresseise had never asked to be born into such circumstances.
Eldoris then grabbed both sides of Marella's waist. "Do you want to leave?" she asked, which Marella immediately responded to with a nod.
"I'm bored here," Marella answered honestly.
Without hesitation, Eldoris lifted Marella's body up and began swimming, taking her away from that place.
