Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 10: CHOOSE YOUR GAME

The corridor twisted and shimmered, forming a small arena just big enough for the match.

Kimiko stepped forward, her eyes glinting, gloved fingers tapping against the cage she always carried."…So, which game will it be?" she asked, her voice smooth, deadly calm.

Lin Xia, Mei Chen, and Yue Ning glanced at each other."…We choose," Lin Xia said firmly."…And only two of us will challenge her at a time."

Yue Ning stepped back first, volunteering to observe Lin Xia and Mei Chen moved forward, prepared for whatever Kimiko had planned 🔹 DECIDING THE GAME

The arena shimmered as Kimiko spoke:"…Chess? Scrabble? Or something… traditional?"

Lin Xia thought carefully.

Chess could be calculated, precise, and strategic Scrabble could test vocabulary and mind games Chinese childhood games like jump rope strategy games or Chinese checkers could mix nostalgia with chaos

Finally, Lin Xia pointed."…We'll play chess."

Kimiko arched an eyebrow."…Chess? A classic. Fine."Her grin widened."…May the better strategist win."

🔹 THE GAME BEGINS Lin Xia sat opposite Kimiko, Mei Chen on her side The chessboard was glowing faintly, pieces slightly distorted by the system The stakes were visible above the board: every captured piece could lead to a small—but real—punishment

The first moves were slow, deliberate, each side analyzing the other's style.

Kimiko's style was sharp, psychotic yet precise Every capture, every check, sent shivers through the air

Lin Xia's violet eyes scanned the board."…She's fast, but she always plays the first few moves like she's expecting a cheat," she murmured.

Mei Chen nodded."…She's testing us. Trying to see if we'll panic."

🔹 THE PSYCHOLOGICAL TENSION Students and NPCs whispered along the corridor edges:

"She's undefeated.""Look at the way she smirks—like she already owns your soul."

The tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife Lin Xia and Mei Chen cannot cheat. They rely solely on strategy, intuition, and teamwork Kimiko expects a mistake, a single hesitation to punish them mercilessly

Suddenly, Kimiko leaned forward."…Your move, Lin Xia. Or do you freeze under the pressure?"

Lin Xia took a deep breath, moving her knight carefully…

The piece's trajectory hinted at a psychological trap Kimiko's eyes glinted as she realized the move was not random 🔹 BRUTAL PSYCHOTIC ELEMENTS

Even in chess, Kimiko's punishments were twisted and terrifying:

Losing a pawn = a sharp sting on the fingertips Losing a knight = a faint but unbearable heat along the arm Losing the queen? Kimiko didn't even need to speak—it was implied, whispered by everyone watching: "You will regret it."

The girls were sweating, hands slightly trembling, but their focus was perfect.

Mei Chen whispered advice quietly, barely audible over Kimiko's cackling Every move became a test of nerves and strategy, not just brute force 🔹 OBSERVATION & LEARNING

Yue Ning watched from the side:

Not participating, but studying every micro-expression Learning Kimiko's patterns, anticipating traps Ready to step in for the next round if Lin Xia or Mei Chen slipped

The game unfolded slowly, intensely, psychologically, the girls pushing their limits without ever cheating, proving their skill against an undefeated psychotic elite.
