Hae-joon lets out a quiet breath, glancing around the empty street.
"Wait, isn't this your first time here? Do you even know where to go?"
"I do."
"…And I'm just supposed to follow you?"
Arthur doesn't hesitate.
"Yes."
Hae-joon stares at him.
"...And what guarantee do i have that you aren't a psycho serial killer?!"
"If I had to get rid of you Hae-Joon...i would've already done that hours ago"
He said it in a low growl that sent shivers down Hae-joon's spine.
"Okay..okay..my bad, sir"
Then Hae-joon sighs, running a hand through his hair.
"…Fine. Lead the way. But let me warn you..any funny business, I won't look and just start throwing hands! I know Karate." He hits a pose.
Arthur doesn't respond.
He simply turns, and starts walking.
Not checking if Hae-joon follows.
Like he already knows he will.
Hae-joon watches him for a second.
"…You're seriously not going to look back, are you?"
"No."
"…You're unbelievable."
Still..he follows.
They walk in silence.
The city thins out..fewer lights, fewer people. The air feels colder.
Hae-joon shoves his hands into his pockets, glancing at Arthur.
"…So," he starts, a little too casually, "what exactly are you gonna do..like how do you fix your mistake, what is your mistake?!"
Arthur looks back and shushes him.
"You talk too much..and I can't tell you anything, yet." And he starts walking again.
Hae-joon is taken aback and this makes him furious.
"W-what?! Why not? First you tell me I'm strange, then you say i shouldn't exist, then that I'm tampered with, then you tell me someone is hunting me down, and I'm following a total stranger who fell out of nowhere! And now you tell me I can't know the reason?!?"
Arthur doesn't listen and ignores him completely.
"Yes, go ahead and ignore me! You made a damn mistake and I'm here paying for it! Haha! How f***ing convenient for you."
Arthur stops, Hae-joon keeps ranting looking down and bumps into him.
"Ow! What are you made of steel?! And now you stop. Wow." He says rubing his head.
"Here." Arthur points at an old, half-abandoned building.
Hae-joon raises a brow. "…You're taking me to a place that looks like it's featured in crime documentaries?"
"It's empty. Unmonitored."
"Well yes, it's 'abandoned' for a reason."
Arthur steps closer to the door.
Then pauses.
Just slightly.
"…Stay close," he says.
Hae-joon snorts. "Oh, now you care?"
Arthur doesn't look at him.
"…You're a target."
That wipes the humor right off Hae-joon's face.
A beat.
"…Right," he mutters.
Arthur pushes the door open.
It creaks.
Darkness greets them.
