Next morning.
The soft glow of the sunlight hit Hae-joon as he stirred awake, slowly opening his eyes.
"Uhmmm...what it's morning already *yawn* I swear I just slept..wai-"
Hae-joon felt like he was laying on something or on someone..he had totally forgotten about last nights dread. He looked up to see Arthur sleeping...so... nonchalantly? He is serving face while asleep.
'What the?!? Why am I laying on him?! How did I end up here?! I swear I was on the other side of the room!' Hae-joon thought to himself.
"Did you sleep well?"
Hae-joon jumped up like he was ready to fight demons.
"Huh?!? Uh...yeah..yeah I did"
Somehow Arthur was so okay with it and then there was Hae-joon who was a complete hot mess.
"How-whe-what was I-I doing near you?!" Hae-joon asked concerned and fluttered.
"You were shivering and grunting a lot in your sleep so I came to check on you but you just pulled me in and cuddle-"
"OKAY! That's enough info..."
Arthur noticed a red colour flushing on Hae-joon's cheeks.
"What's that? Why are you turning red?"
Hae-joon was caught off guard with his question.
"Wha-me?! No no...it's um..it's uh rash! Yes rash.. morning allergy."
Arthur got up and stretched, shaking the sleep off his body... Hae-joon couldn't help but stare at his perfect physique..almost surreal.
'Damn what do these celestial beings eat..I wonder if all of them look this...hot..what?! No Hae-joon come back to reality! He could be a threat too! What if he is gaining my trust and then he will lure me with his hot physi- no what the f!!' His trail of thoughts.
"Let's get out." Arthur said in his cold tone which snapped Hae-joon back to reality.
"Huh?! Yes..we should..but is it safe?"
"Nothing should be in this building right now..but let's stay alert."
They stepped out.
The corridor looked the same.
But it felt different.
Quieter.
Empty.
Whatever had been there before..
was gone.
They moved quickly.
No stopping.
Arthur led the way with precision, like he already knew the fastest route out.
Hae-joon followed close behind this time.
No complaints.
No jokes.
Just focus.
The exit came into view.
Faint light spilling in from outside.
Morning.
Hae-joon felt something in his chest loosen the moment he saw it.
"…We're actually getting out," he murmured.
Arthur didn't slow down.
"Stay alert."
"Yeah, yeah—"
"—I'm serious."
That made him stop talking.
They stepped outside.
The world looked…
normal.
Cars in the distance.
Faint sounds of the city waking up.
Light cutting through the early morning haze.
Like nothing had happened.
Like the night hadn't existed at all.
Hae-joon stood there for a second.
Just breathing.
"…Okay," he said finally. "That's… weirdly comforting."
Arthur didn't share the sentiment.
His gaze moved across the street.
Scanning.
"…We don't have much time."
Hae-joon frowned. "What do you mean? You said it's safer in the morning."
"It is."
"Then?!"
"They aren't just shadows..they blend in too."
That wiped the relief off his face.
"…Great."
