Chapter 16 - Bloom

Lucian and Amara went back to their seats but everything was now different, there was no longer distance between them, the void between them had been filled they seat side by side no longer on opposite sides.

The continue with conversations about their personal life and work, Amara spoke a lot about her childhood, how she grew up, how her home was, high school life and Lucian listed without interrupting once he seemed calmer and less guarded and time began going without them noticing the air became more Clearer, the rooftop became bigger

"So what about you" Amara asked. "Any fun childhood memory"

"Not exactly" Lucian replied

"My adopted parents were well to do but I didn't grow up like that"

"What do you mean you didn't grow up like that if you grow up well to do"

"Everything that glitters is not gold

my life was planned from childhood to adulthood with a single goal to accomplish"

"Single goal what's that"

"My parents had this one goal for me"

"what do you mean single goal for you"

"They had something they wanted me to be "

"it's normal for parents to envision what they would like their child to be

I'm kind of interested in this goal is it the company or"

"It's not the company that's the single goal

The company is more or less a side hustle"

"A side hustle

You're a president a freaking of a multi billion-dollar company

Any parent will be proud to have a child like that"

"Not mine

They are not impressed with businesses like that"

"So what exactly is the thing that you do that you have a multi billion dollar company as a side hustle"

"Family business

Each and everyone of us must participate in and right now I hold on important position"

"I want to know about this business"

"Darling, slow your horses down"

"I really want to know more about you and your childhood

you don't talk about your childhood you say each and every one of us like you have siblings"

"I actually do

I have a sister and a brother"

"How come I've never heard of them"

"Because it's none of your business"

"You don't have to be mean, stop being so guarded"

"I'm just used to it

I don't mean any harm

I do have two siblings but we are not your regular siblings

we do not have any form of emotional Bond

We were raised to be competitors

My family business is survival of the fittest and now I am the fittest

I have to always stay on my feet"

"It sounds serious I bet your parents are strict"

"They are"

"Kind of figured from the way you behave"

"I don't want to talk about my childhood

nothing is fun about it."

At this point Amara phone lit up and she stares at the screen for a moment

"Oh my god it's 2:40 a.m.

I have work tomorrow

I've been here for too long"

"I also have work and I don't think we've been here too long"

"You're the boss"

" Let's stay longer, I enjoy your company a lot"

"No no no no no no no no I have to go you"

Amara grabs are things in a hurry

"Darling, calm down

I'll take you home and I will take you to work in the morning

Don't rush"

"I don't want you taking me to work in the morning

I want to avoid gossip"

"I do not condone gossiping in my company"

Whether you condone it or not people will see and they will say something"

"Baby girl, let them see"

"You may be okay with that but I'm not okay with it"

"I can send someone to take you to work is that okay by you"

"That will be nice thank you"

"It's not a big deal sweetheart"

Lucian stands up from his seat and holds amara hand and walks towards the elevator. They drive to Amara's house I'm about getting out of the car

 "Darling "Amara Pauses

Lucian grabs her chin and kisses her forehead

"Goodnight baby girl"

Her stomach just make that sound not of hunger but butterflies

Amara was dumbfounded she couldn't respond but the creaking of the cricket brought her back to reality, after the car drove off Amara kept on replying over again what happened, the way he said baby girl drove her into insane pleasure she could feel her body responding, it didn't make sense none of it did.

Amara laid down to sleep but couldn't find sleep she kept staring at the ceiling reminiscing the night she just had.

This wasn't just attraction, it had gone past that, she having an quenchable hunger for him. His voice alone sent her mind and body into an array.

Time passes and she couldn't still find sleep tossing from one end of the bed to the other with memories of him that kept her awake, she was in deeper than she thought she knew.
