I was two months into my third year when the first girl from my school had managed to get past the boy's defences.
I noticed this immediately as I saw a pink skinned-
'Pink skin?'
,yellow horned-
'Yellow horned?'
girl who had full black eyes with a pink iris.
'Isn't she part of class 1-A?'
She waved and walked over to me.
"Hiya there! My names Mina Ashido! What about you?"
"I'm surprised you made it past the defences, they've done well for the past two years."
I had found out about the boy's operation last year when I peeked at Yamamoto's phone.
"They sure have ahaha!" She giggled. "So am I the first girl you've talked to that's your age?"
"Not just that but also the first girl in this school, unless my teachers count." I returned to my meal.
Ashido sat down. "Nah I wouldn't say so. Anyways the girls are curious about you, you're super mysterious and I heard you are going to apply for UA, is that true?"
"Yeah that's what I am going for." I looked back up at her. "You going to as well?"
"Yeah I am! Anyways nice talk! Can I get your number? Otherwise the other girls will scold me. You don't mind being added to random group chats do you?" She shot off multiple sentences without pausing.
"You can get my number sure… but let everyone know I often forget about it or don't have it on me so I can't exactly reply to texts."
"Sure thing!" She walked off having saved my number.
'That was unexpected… how can this day get any crazier.'
—Later that evening—
I was watching the news when my jaw dropped.
'No way…'
On the news was an incident that was dealt with by All Might with a punch that changed the weather. It was commonly referred to as the Sludge Villain Incident.
Due to All Might's involvement Bakugo and Midoriya were shown on the TV with a lot of more focus around Bakugo as he was caught by the villain before All Might appeared.
Aizawa the walked into the office. "You know where Nezu is?"
"Is it about how you expelled one of the first year's entire class?"
"Yeah."
"Nezu will be here soon. Have a seat."
I turned back to the news, fiddling with my canister of Midnight's quirk.
'And so it begins.'
—April next year—
April first was my birthday. But it was also exam day. The gates hadn't yet opened but I was already in the hall with Present Mic.
"Hey there Takaba." He wiggled his fingers at me. "You remember that debt you owe me?"
'Dear God…'
Ten minutes later and everyone was in the hall, just waiting in anticipation. Well, everyone was waiting in anticipation but me. I had a job to do unfortunately.
'Damn Present Mic, how could you, after I gave you that favour for keeping Nemuri at bay I did not think you would use it like that.'
Present Mic stood up to the stage and yelled. "WELCOME TO TODAY'S LIVE PERFORMANCE!!! EVERYBODY SAY 'HEY'!!" He held his hand to his ear only to be met with silence.
"Hey!" I half shouted in response. I then glared at him.
'Happy now?'
He then continued on raising his hands into the air. "WELL THAT'S COOL, MY EXAMINEE LISTENERS!! I'M HERE TO PRESENT THE GUIDLINES-"
'Blah blah blah…'
I immediately let my thoughts wander since my role was complete.
That was until someone stood up with a sharp voice and said. "May I ask a question?!?"
I once again returned to ignoring everything. I had already read the handout.
After a while everyone was ushered out to their grounds. I was on site D.
I didn't bother looking around, I wouldn't remember most people around me anyways.
"AND BEGIN!!" Present Mic yelled.
I immediately sprung to action sending my scout up to the highest point that was also closest to the entrance before slipping through. It only took 8 seconds.
Once on top of the roof I reached into my domain, pulled out my bag and let my twenty drones spread out. Bringing up a connected screen I flickered through all cameras using a five split display.
Every time a person looked like they were going to get hit I was there. All I had to do was flick a switch on the back of the robot, so I could rack up some points easily.
I limited my range to the main starting area, since I didn't want to pass out due to exhaustion. Furthermore, if I got first place then I would have to give a speech at the sports festival. That was a big no-no.
When the zero pointer appeared there were only two people nearby, so I quickly forced them to a safe spot and ran.
By the end of the exam I was covered in sweat and chugging water like there was no tomorrow, felling quite satisfied with my own performance.
—Later that day—
Nezu and Midnight returned late and immediately went to bed not before they congratulated me.
Nezu said. "Well done."
However Midnight only said. "I'm going to need you every night for the next week Taka. Marking tests is ridiculously tiring."
I agreed since I actually felt bad.
—One week later—
Nezu gave me a small circular object which I quickly recognised as a hologram. It was hard not to notice one of my own handiworks.
After pressing a button All Might appeared. "Hello there young man! It is I, All Might! I am here! To teach at UA! You passed the written portion with ease and did incredibly well on the practical! But something you should know is that you not only received points for defeating villains! But helping others as well! Those rescue points have led you to have the second highest score of your year! Well done for attaining 52 rescue points and 23 villain points! Come in to your hero academia!"
Nemuri gave me a hug from behind while Nezu tugged on my trousers and gave me a smile.
'Noice.'
My ears quivered. Nemuri, who had been waiting all day, finally broke.
She gave a slight poke to the inside fluff of my ears. The insides were a very sensitive spot and so the sudden touch caused me to blush.
"W-wh-what was that?" I started to curl up in shame.
Nemuri spluttered. "I-I am sorry, I just… I've always wanted to do that."
Nezu patted me on the shoulder with reassurance. "May I?"
I buried my head into my legs. "Sure…"
Nezu gave my head a slight stroke making me feel really satisfied and comforted.
"Can Midnight touch them as well." Nezu the ever aware, had noticed Midnight already reaching out.
"Mmmm fine."
Nemuri then dragged me into her lap and twirled the inside fluff in her fingers.
'Wait a minute why doesn't this even feel half bad?'
