The Principal rarely battled personally these days. Most students were handled by the regular instructors; only a select few, like Aya, received direct instruction from the Principal. Consequently, the students were electrified, quickly clearing the battlefield. They looked at Ash with newfound respect; his earlier arrogance had clearly been an act, and he was held in high regard by the Principal.
"Ash, my old partner hasn't had a proper battle in a long time!" The Principal wasn't using his Ariados this time.
"It's an honor!" As expected, Ash's earlier bluster had been entirely for show.
"Go for it, Big Brother! Go Scizor!" Molly cheered from Aya's side.
The Principal threw his Poké Ball. "Then let's go, Beedrill!"
The Johto Region was filled with forests, and Beedrill was easily the most common Bug-type Pokémon found there. They often appeared in swarms, causing plenty of trouble for traveling Trainers. However, the Principal's Beedrill looked entirely different. It held its twin stingers with a relaxed posture, but its aura was steadily rising. This was a battle-hardened Beedrill with immense combat power!
"This opponent is no joke. I can't be careless!" In terms of typing, Scizor had the absolute advantage. As a Steel-type, it was immune to poisoning, and Poison-type moves were ineffective against it.

Swords Dance boosted its Attack power. With the buffs applied, the battle officially commenced!
"Beedrill, use Double Team followed by Twinneedle!"
The Principal's order was executed instantly. Beedrill's figure vanished, and suddenly Scizor was surrounded by copies. Beedrill raised its stingers, which shimmered with a dangerous, cold light.
Ding-dang!
Ash hadn't even given an order before Scizor was hit, forced back several steps. The stingers had accurately struck the joints of Scizor's abdomen!
A critical hit!
"Even for a critical hit, the power shouldn't be this high!" A blue light flashed from Ash as his Aura Power enveloped Scizor. Suddenly, his eyes lit up as he looked at the Beedrill. "Could it have the Sniper ability?"
The Sniper ability significantly increased the damage dealt by critical hits. This truly was a ninjaan assassin capable of a one-hit kill if given the chance!
"Hmph, so what if it's a Sniper?" Ash clenched his fists. Such a battle was rare! This kind of opponent was exactly why traveling was so wonderful.
"Scizor, Agility into Quick Attack!"
A red streak flashed across the fieldAsh's Red Flash was born in that moment! Beedrill was sent flying, but it stabilized itself with its wings, the stinger on its tail suddenly glowing.
"Pin Missile!"
A barrage of venomous needles shot toward Scizor from various directions!

Ash heard the familiar heartbeat againhis own and Scizor's! There were only 3 points of Compatibility left. This was the first time both values were rising simultaneously. "Let's go, Scizor! Double Team!"
This time, it was Scizor's turn to surround Beedrill. It held its pincers with an air of relaxed confidence, assuming the stance for a Cut!
"Beedrill, use Pin Missile again!"
The barrage of needles dispersed the clones one by one, but Scizor tanked the hits and delivered a decisive Cut directly onto Beedrill's body!
"The resistance of a Steel-type Pokémon is truly impressive!" The Principal watched Beedrill's state, more determined than ever to teach Ash's Scizor his Ninjutsu.
"Principal, do you really have time to talk?"
As Ash spoke, Scizor had already closed the distance. Its massive pincers shimmered with a metallic luster!
