It was a huge shock to me that the Centaur I saw in my dream is live before me. Although she looks much older and worn but her features are still the same. She has the carriage like that of an ancient. She smiled at the sight of Wei Chen and the children. My heart began to race inside me. 'What manner of thing is this? How could a character from my dream be visible right in front of me. I pinched myself to know if I was hallucinating. But no! I wasn't, this is real. The children were singing a song that would have been a signature song to them. The Centaur danced and was in harmony with the song.
I stood in a corner observing the beautiful scene before me. How I wish it was under a different circumstance I could have joined in the excitement also. As I stood in a corner and continued to observe, flashes of the dream would run through my mind. I saw the scene of the birth. Again I saw the Centaur running towards the palace. Yet again, I saw the anger in the face of the King and the Centaur's compassion towards the child. Everything came running through my mind as though I was seeing the vision all over again, though this time with my eyes wide open.
The Centaur noticed my absence away from where I stood. She came close to me and said ' my child why do you worry about what has been? Why not observe the moment and try to tailor your efforts into what could be. You are so much bothered about what you do not know, so much so that you neglect what is right before you. There are many paths in life that make themselves unknown to us, yet there are so many other parts that willingly reveal themselves to us. Focus on that which you know, and with that you might begin to unfold that which is unknown' As she said this,she stepped back into the jubilation.
After some minutes the jubilation quiet down.The children went outside with the Centaur. Wei Chen came to me and said 'Are you okay?' I nodded my head and stepped away from him. He followed me outside. I stood there,lost in the maze of my thoughts. 'Zhen' he called out to me. I turned to look at him and he pulled me to himself. As he did,my heart started racing so fast I could barely keep up. Is there another another arrow flying towards me? Are we under attack again? I haven't gone far in my thoughts before I felt his scent getting stronger as he moved his head towards mine. He got so close I had to close my eyes.
As I did,I felt his lips touch mine in a sweet gentle kiss. As he kissed me,I felt this rush of emotions I could not contain. I locked my lips deeper in his and he moved his hands around me in a gentle but intentional way. Everything in me wanted him. I was in full surrender to him;he was after all my safe place. My hands were all over his body. I could feel the lines of his muscles since he wasn't in his armour. As I made for us to go inside,he gently pulled away from my embrace.
While he still held me close, he ran his hand through my hair gently and he said ' Zhen, I know how you feel and I feel the same too. But,there are certain things I must tell you and certain things you must know'. ' The Centaur said I should focus on what is right before me. Wei Chen,you are the one before me. I see you and I want to stay with you at all times. I don't care about what I need to go through,if you are with me every step of the way' I said. ' I know what the Centaur said and you are correct,but trust me,there are certain things you need to discover before your defence is broken'. Wei Chen replied. I couldn't endure an argument right now, so I chose to believe him. I rested my head on his shoulder and he also rested his head on mine. I consoled myself with the fact that he said he felt the same way about me. Whatever is coming has us both to contend with.
The Centaur came to meet with us and told us to come to we could eat. The meal was nothing special but it was indeed refreshing. After the meal, the Centaur called us both and told us she wanted to share something with us. 'There has never been a division between the North the South and the sea initially. This way a people that live together, Centaurs,human elves and the lot of them. The kingdom was ruled by family who had two twin sons. One of them was very kind and considerate and the other had no regard for the laws of the land' she began.
'Then came the time when the heir was to be announced. It was glaring all was in favor of the kind hearted son yet the other son was not ready to be relegated. He deviced a means to see that his brother is not crowned as heir. He joined forces with his father's known enemies and led a massive betrayal of the courts and the kingdom at large. Their father, the King was so furious,he chose to banish him and all that were involved in the betrayal.
The penalty for betrayal was death at the time but because his son was involved,he did not choose that path. The King maintained rule of the kingdom. He created a territory which was the most fortified of his Kingdom named it the Sea and have his son to bear rule of it. The other son named the land of his exile the North,hence they are called the Northern emissaries. This is the beginning of the fight between the North and the rest of the kingdom. She ended
There are many questions in my heart but I'm holding on to what the Centaur taught me earlier. Yet I could not but wonder, is Wei Chen a descendant of the King? What is my relationship with all of these. As the thoughts lingered on my mind,we heard a loud blast!.
