Loreen's POV
Loreen stood outside Greta's private study with his back against the wall and his arms crossed and waited.
The chief constable had told him to stay outside until they confirmed it was clear to enter. Loreen had not argued about it even though every part of him wanted to walk straight in.
He understood the caution. They did not know what they were walking into and the chief was doing his job properly.
He could hear movement inside. Footsteps, the sound of furniture being shifted, low voices exchanging words he could not make out clearly through the door.
He thought about Sairis lying on the couch in his quarters right now. Exhausted and recovering and carrying more than anyone had known for weeks.
