Sairis's POV
"How long was I asleep," Sairis asked. His voice came out rough and low.
"Long enough," the king said, "that I was able to hold you without a single complaint from you or you rushing off to go be somewhere or do something."
Sairis almost smiled. "I am sorry I have not visited recently," he said. "I had things I needed to take care of."
"I know," the king said. "I did not think you had simply decided to forget about me."
He turned a page in his book with his free hand, the other still resting in Sairis's hair. "Did you manage to sort out whatever it was?" He asked
Sairis was quiet for a moment. "Not entirely," he said. "It is going to take longer than three days. That is actually part of why I came to see you tonight."
The king closed the book properly this time and looked down at him. "Say what you need to say," he said.
