Back at his dorm, all of the lights had been already turned off for the students to fall asleep, but not Min Kyu who was lying on the top bunk.
It was either because of the annoying snoring of his roommates or what happened earlier, or maybe a combination of both that he couldn't sleep.
Confused on what to do, Min Kyu slipped his phone out of the pillow case while covering himself with the blanket.
He typed out a post with the brightness of the screen illuminating his face. " What to do if you find a kid without his parents."
Immediately the first reply came in, containing 3 words.
Call the police.
Min kyu. "…."
This isn't going to be much help. Quietly closing the tab, he made a brand new post on a different account.
'I, 16 male was skipping school when a disciplinary student found me. He kept chasing me around the school until I found a door that was hidden. It was not locked so I hid there turning on the lights. I found a bunch of trash and a small kid there whose deadbeat parents were nowhere to be seen. What should I do?"
This post quickly skyrocketed to the top with its absurdity and the comments started mocking it.
" This is the kind of shit a 14 year old girl would write for fun."
" This story is so fake."
"Littlle bro if that happened i will change my name into gae."
Getting flamed from all sides min kyu sighed, he himself wouldn't have believed it if he wasn't in the situation.
No point in trying to make them believe it, better he focus all his energy on the comments that may be helpful.
"Go and help the kid while seeing his living situation. "
Landing on this advice, Min Kyu put his phone back under his pillow wanting to go to sleep, unfortunately for him a gritting snoring noise vibrated from the bottom bunk.
Min Kyu got his phone out again.
"How to suffocate somebody without them dying."
In the early morning the sun shone on Min Kyu who was yawning with dark circles adoring his eyes.
Taking a stroll to the closest convenience store he entered with his hands in his pockets. The shelves in this store were stocked up with a lot of things Min Kyu needed to buy.
Contemplating he finally picked the necessities: milk, bread, candy, chips and most importantly, cleaning items.
In his own little world. Min Kyu had not noticed that since he came in people were either looking at him or straight up leaving the store.
'Does he need diapers?'
He did remember a weird piss scent in the room.
So maybe?
Searching it up the website informed him that. 'Five-year-olds typically only need diapers when they fall asleep because they could wet the bed if they have a nightmare.'
Going up to the store clerk who was sweating buckets wondering if Min Kyu was going to make trouble. The next words out the delinquents mouth were unexpected.
" Do you have five year old diapers? "
As if rethinking Min kyu shook his head muttering to himself. "No."
He thought. ' Too skinny it wouldn't fit him.'
" Actually, give me four-year-old diapers."
The store clerk. " ... "
The worker walked into the back handing the teenager a few diapers, he quickly checked out Min Kyu.
Ring! the store door closed behind Min kyu.
Crouching down on the sidewalk waiting for the green light. An urge to smoke grew in him from lack of sleep.
Acting out of habit Min Kyu dropped the bags and touched his pocket to then realize in annoyance he had forgotten to buy his morning cigarettes.
Almost turning back he stopped himself because he was going to meet a child, not hang out with his friends. tsking he picked up the plastic bags.
'Whatever cigarettes are bad for kids to smell anyways.'
Getting closer to the school he started to wonder how he could find the door again.
'How did I find it last time?'
" fellow student! Your skipping again may I know your class and name"
Min kyu's memory got refreshed as he started running away. This time fleeing was harder holding all the bags.
" you should not skip school it's-"
The disciplinary student nagged Min Kyu about rules while chasing after like a mosquito buzzing in his ear.
'Fuck just my luck.'
In frantically moving his legs as fast as he could, Min Kyu accidentally dropped a bag and his school badge. He didn't notice or maybe he did but in his mind it was not worth it to get caught over it.
So he left the bag and dust behind him
The student with the clipboard stopped in front of the bag that was dropped, losing direction on where that skipper went.
With nothing else to do he squatted down, opening it expecting the normal stuff a teen would buy but…..
He tilted his head in utter confusion. " Diapers, milk cartons …..what?"
A strange idea spawned in this rule abider's head. He grabbed the badge containing min kyu school information.
The caught Min kyu not knowing he already has lost his pursuer was still huffing and puffing.
He ran faster when the surroundings looked familiar; he would have never thought he would ever be relieved to meet a dead end.
quickly swinging the hidden door open min kyu threw himself and the items bought inside.
In the clear the teen panted heavily sliding down on the door his breath being all out of whack.
"Um."
Min kyu looked up at Ji woo peeking at him seemingly worried about him.
Earlier Min kyu had been irritated, starting to think this is not worth the trouble but ji woo worry had helped calm his nerves a little.
'This is not the kids fault. I wanted to do this.'
" yo twerp i got you stuff, go check it out."
He pointed out the bags in the corner. Lighting up Ji Woo did what he was asked. With time to think Min Kyu recalled the bag that was lost.
" Do you see the diapers?"
Ji woo's little face blushed. " no and I don't need it."
Getting up and cracking his sore back he retorted. " The smell tells a different tale"
Pouting Ji woo chose to ignore him munching on bread hungrily with his head down.
"You will choke like that, drink milk and slow down" it is not like the food will be disappearing and if it did he would just buy more.
Looking around the trash bin of a room he found a small futon that looks like it hasn't been washed in ages, making Min Kyu disgusted at its filth.
How did it get this bad? If his mom saw this room she wouldn't be thinking his room is that bad anymore.
Min Kyu pulled his sleeves up to throw everything unusable or just filthy into the newly bought trash bags, Little by little he threw out everything.
It had to be a miracle there were no bugs, most likely on account the door is never opened.
In a rhythm he was very close to throwing away a large box out But ji woo yelled and grabbed his hand. "No no no."
Min Kyu stopped the action of throwing. He checked what's in the box and found household items like a toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, a towel and extra blanket. All of these things looked like they had seen better days.
but…
'There's still a bit of hygiene.'
Pushing Ji Woo's head, he comforted. "Okay, Okay I'm not throwing it away."
'Not yet at least." He thought.
Getting all kinds of cleaning supplies out, he wiped everything down and swept the floor clean. It was hard having barely ever cleaned his own room but seeing the dirty room become a bit cleaner was motivation for Min Kyu.
Clapping the dust out of his hands and wiped the sweat off his forehead." What do you think?"
The only thing he couldn't clean was the futon. That rag needed to be thrown out. He'll just order a new one along with new household items.
Ji Woo clapped very impressed. " I wanted to clean too but it's too heavy. "
'Go figure one trash bag is more than the kid's entire weight.'
Min kyu now had the chance to sit down. Opening the phone to play an online game. The room would be the perfect hangout place if it weren't so dirty.
It was solved now that he had cleaned it but there's also another problem….
There were big black eyes staring at him intently making Min Kyu uncomfortably get up from his laying position.
"Why do you keep staring at me? Go play with something. What do you usually do?"
" I draw! But there's no more colors.."
Oh great now he sounds like an asshole bullying some poor child while he is playing on his phone. Getting out his math book and a pencil he put them on the floor.
"Draw with this."
The complex equation on the cover had Ji Woo rejecting the idea. " This is for school."
" I don't use it."
And that was darningly true Min Kyu doesn't go to school often and when he does, he sleeps or fucks around. Ji Woo was hesitant at first but then laid on his stomach drawing happily.
Stealing a glance to see if he was playing min kyu relaxed, continuing to play with the phone.
Most of the day passed like that Min Kyu sitting against the wall playing a game on his phone and little Ji Woo laying next to him drawing.
