In this era, every child tames their first companion at age 12, but the true Awakening Ceremony—the moment a Tamer's soul space matures and reveals their unique talent—happens at age 15.
Among the legends of this world, none shine brighter than the Heart Family. Descendants of the Pioneer Leo Heart, they are the undisputed masters of the Heart Guild, one of the top exploration guilds in the Alliance.
The Morning at the Heart Ranch
The sun rose over the Heart Estate, a sprawling territory that housed one of the most prestigious breeding ranches in the Safe Zone.
"Leo! If you keep daydreaming over the feed-buckets, we're going to be late for the Ceremony!"
Natasha Heart, 21, landed her Silver-Winged Griffin in the center of the yard. As a Captain of the Heart Guild, she exuded a sharp, commanding aura, but her eyes softened as she looked at her younger brother.
"Coming, Tashe!" Leo shouted back.
At 15, Leo Heart carried the looks of his legendary ancestor—white hair that seemed to catch the light and calm, analytical eyes. He was a genius in beast theory, often helping his mother, Lily Heart, in the research labs. While his older brother, Marcus (19), was away at the University studying advanced breeding, Leo spent his mornings caring for the ranch's infants.
"Is the little one fed?" asked Jason Heart, the Guild Master. He was a mountain of a man, known for his righteous heart and immense power, but at home, he was just a doting father.
"Yes, Dad. The Spark-Pups are all settled," Leo smiled.
Beside him, his two current companions nudged his hands. At 12, Leo had tamed two "common" pets that most found unremarkable: a Cloud-Snail (a nod to the family's history) and a Rusty-furred Fox. Because of the Heart family philosophy—No beast is trash, only the Tamer is limited—Leo had trained them into peak condition.
The Awakening Ceremony
The Grand Hall of the Alliance Academy was packed. Leo sat next to his best friend, Samuel, a boisterous boy who was already coddling his pet Armored Badger.
"I'm nervous, Leo," Samuel whispered. "What if I just get a D-Rank capacity?"

The Headmaster stepped forward. "Leo Heart. Step up."
As Leo placed his hand on the Awakening Crystal, a pulse of energy didn't just ripple—it roared. The crystal turned a deep, celestial gold, then shattered.

Jason Heart paused, his fork halfway to his mouth. He looked at his son—the boy who had spent every day for three years caring for the ranch, learning every herb and every beast's mood.
"You've done the work, Leo," Jason said seriously. "The Heart Guild will provide the transport, but the exploration is yours. Show us why our name is a legend."
