Chapter 6: The Dragon's Grotto and the Ancient Awakening
Before setting foot in the next dungeon, Leo knew they couldn't rely on luck. The Vance family's grudge was a shadow hanging over them, and the "E-Rank" Crystal Grotto was notorious for its unpredictable spatial distortions.
"Sam, if we're going in there, we need to break the limits now," Leo said, sitting in the center of the Heart Ranch's private training field.
The Quadruple Evolution
Leo opened the System Shop. With his 3,250 points, he purchased the Evolutionary Catalyst: Primordial Shadow and a Molten-Iron Essence.
"Nova, Amber—come here."
[Evolution 1: Nova (Void-Drifter Snail)]
Material: Primordial Shadow Catalyst + 500 System Points.
Result: Astro-Void Colossus (Miniature). Her shell turned into a deep obsidian with swirling nebulae. She gained the ability [Event Horizon], allowing her to swallow projectiles.
[Evolution 2: Amber (Rusty-furred Fox)]
Material: Sun-Core Fragment (from Ranch Storage) + 300 System Points.
Result: Solar-Flare Kitsune (Two-Tails). Her fur turned into literal wisps of flame. She gained [Solar Dash], a movement speed buff that leaves a trail of fire.
"Now you, Sam. Give these to your pets." Leo handed him the Molten-Iron Essence and a Verdant Heart-Root.
[Sam's Evolution 1: Boris (Armored Badger)]
Result: Abyssal Iron-Gladiator. His armor fused into a black, indestructible alloy.
[Sam's Evolution 2: Gale (Wind-Swift Hawk)]
Result: Emerald Storm-Raptor. Its wingspan doubled, crackling with green lightning.
"Whoa..." Sam stared at his glowing pets. "Leo, we look like a pro-team!"
Entering the Crystal Grotto
The Crystal Grotto was a cavern of jagged, light-refracting minerals. As they moved deeper, Leo's Sovereign's Insight began to pulse violently.

"Sam, over here!" Leo pushed a hidden mechanism. A stone door ground open, revealing a dusty, silent sanctum that had been sealed for 10,000 years. At the center, resting on a pedestal of Dragon-Bone, were two eggs.
The Forgotten Eggs
Leo walked forward, his breath hitching. He reached out his hand, and the System screens exploded with data.

Contents: Pure Blood of the Primordial Void-Dragon.
Note: This egg contains the essence of the dragon that once fought alongside the first Leo Heart. It requires a "Life-Link" to survive.
[Egg 2: Emerald Reptile Egg]
Status: Healthy / Dormant.
Contents: Primal Earth-Dragon Raptor.
Description: A descendant of the Earth-Dragon Kings. It possesses the "Absolute Defense" trait.
"Sam, take the Emerald one," Leo said, his voice trembling. "That Raptor matches your gravity and defense style perfectly. It has Primal Earth-Dragon blood."
"Are you sure? This looks legendary!" Sam asked, eyes wide.
"I'm sure. Because this one..." Leo looked at the cracked, gray egg. "This one is a ghost. It needs me."
The Emergency Hatching

"No, you don't!" Leo shouted. He bit his finger and pressed a drop of his blood onto the crack. "System! Spend 2,000 Points! Emergency Enchantment: Sovereign's Life-Thread!"
A golden cord of light connected Leo's heart to the egg. The cracks began to glow with a violet fire. The "Pure Blood" inside sensed the lineage of the Heart family and began to beat like a drum.
CRACK.
A small, sleek creature emerged. It wasn't a Western dragon with wings, but a Void-Serpent Dragon. It was pitch black, with silver scales along its spine and four small horns. It curled around Leo's wrist, its eyes—tiny galaxies—looking up at him with ancient recognition.

"Meerrr..." the little dragon chirped, nibbling on Leo's sleeve.
"He's beautiful," Sam whispered, holding his own heavy, green Raptor egg that was starting to shake. "Leo, do you realize what we just found? If the Alliance hears about 'Pure Dragon Blood'..."
"They won't," Leo said, his eyes hardening as he felt the power of the Void-Dragon flowing into his own mana-veins. "Not until we're strong enough to stop them from taking it. Let's get out of here. We have a school exam in three days, and I think our 'trash' pets just became the most dangerous things in the city."
