TIER 5: SAPLING
Jamz walks calmly and collectively. He slowly enters the city and approaches the Sacred Sapling. He observes the tree for a short time but cannot see its entrance, asks a few people but they gives him an unamused look or says that he cant get inside as he wants without giving details. He gets annoyed after all this nonesense and remembers his encounter with that temple creature. Takes a stance and closes his eyes. Obisad's matte black color begins to emit a pitch-black light and becomes heavy. Jamz feels Obisad becoming heavy and swings it at the tree. The tree splits in two horizontally, the top part flies into the air and falls beside it. No explosion, just a black slash that erases it all. Jamz is surprised because he did not expect such damage. Buildings collapse, fear falls across the city, everyone panics. Jamz climbs the roots of the tree and reaches the top without a care. He looks inside the tree and sees thousands of stairs going down and up, faint red lights, as if resembling a giant cave. He jumps down and falls onto a staircase. The stairs are made of a strange metal, durable but not hard. He walks deeper, but despite the red lights everywhere, the light diminishes as he goes down, and eventually Jamz can't see ahead. He tries to go back up, but the stairs behind him have disappeared. He looks underneath, sees the stairs gone, and falls. As he falls, the ground turns reddish, and Jamz sees a circular symbol on the ground. Shortly after, he hits the ground and faints. Not from the impact, but from a different force. When he wakes up, he is in a room with black walls and a doorway. He sees that his arms and legs are bound from all sides by red rays, and he tries to free himself, but it's no use. Finally, someone enters, with white eyes, long pink hair, purple skin like everyone else, wearing light green armor, and a smile on his face. "How are you?" he says in a soft and friendly voice. "Let me go." Jamz commands with a serious face. The man replies, "My name is Forus, pleased to meet you. And we will definitely do it. But on one condition... You will tell us everything you know about Tes..." (...)
TIER 6: COLOR
"Tes?" Jamz snaps. "I don't know what that is." Forus replies, "You can't fool me. The energy you radiate isn't like the others. A few other people with the same energy as you came here, and we heard from them that there are very powerful jewels called 'Tes.' We started digging and searching the space. We don't think that's the right thing to do anymore and that's the reason you are here." Jamz speaks, "Okay, you got me. But you know, I would never tell anything to people like you. And also when you say 'WE heard,' how many of you are there? Are you an organization or something?" Forus smiles politely and says, "That's a correct observation. Yes, there are four more people in our organization." After a short silence, Jamz says, "Are you going to wait for me to speak all day? What will happen if I don't speak?" Forus says, in a calm voice, "If you don't speak, we'll feed you to Jorr, just like we did to the others. He's an ever-hungry Ancient, a being who possesses no Eqia but is more powerful than many." Jamz asks, "Eqia?" "You don't know anything, do you?" says Forus, pulling a brush from his pocket, "This is my Eqia, Jjiy. Every Eqia user has their own unique Eqia. This is how you fight here. You don't seem to have one; if you did, it would be with you right now, wouldn't it?" But the only answer he receives is silence. "Well, you're not going to speak either, I guess you'll be good for nothing but being eaten..." Forus's eyes turn from white to sky blue, and the floor of the room cracks. Beneath the ground are magma and the creature called the Ancient. The red rays holding Jamz in the air disappear, and Jamz begins to fall into the magma but Forus on the other hand hangs in the air. At that moment, the floor of the room closes, Forus's eye color returns to normal, and he leaves. As Jamz falls, Jorr, despite his enormous size, leaps at him with a speed beyond the comprehension of the brain and lands a punch that sends Jamz flying miles away... (...)
TIER 7: EQIA
Jamz, having taken the punch, begins to feel dizzy and tries to understand what happened. Finally, crashing into a wall, Jamz sees Jorr's massive, black figure; a metal ring in place of its eyes, with no mouth or nose. The dizziness subsides, and he tries to get up but cannot; he is in a pathetic state. Jorr looks at him, and he looks at Jorr... While the magma is burning him slowly, Jorr slowly approaches and looks more closely. Jamz doesn't move. He knows that the slightest wrong move could result in Jorr crushing his skull. As Jorr examines Jamz, Jamz regains his composure. Jorr rises its fist, but Jamz quickly dodges, causing Jorr to become furious and land another punch. Jamz barely survives the second punch, when Jorr appears above him and sends him deep into the magma with a final punch. Jamz's body burns, but despite the pain, he cannot move a muscle. At that exact moment, his chest splits open down to his stomach, and lights begin to emerge. All the magma near Jamz turns to dust, but he remains motionless, floating. From the source of the light emerges a sword identical to Obisad's, the only difference being that its color is not black, but twilight blue. The crack above Jamz closes, and Obisad's hilt reaches out to Jamz. As Jamz, trembling, struggles to grasp the hilt, Jorr lunges forward and punches Obisad. Or so he thinks. He shatters into millions of pieces, each fragment violently scattering. Jamz takes Obisad, and a terrifying aura emerges. Jamz screams in agony as his skin slowly peels away. Blood flows profusely, but Jamz's blood instantly forms new skin. This time, it is the same color as Obisad, twilight blue. His pupils and hair turn white, his hair reaching down to his feet. Jamz looks at Obisad and sees that the jewels are gone. But he considers his situation and doesn't care much. He digs at the floor of the room where he was hanging from his limbs and returns to the organization's lair. He leaves the room and sees a corridor made of the same volcanic material as the walls of the room. He says, "Let's slash, Obisad." as he decides to walk to deeper. (...)
TIER 8: FADED
Jamz, beginning to walk, finds himself in a giant cave at the end of the path. A cave that widens lengthwise, its start not visible, with small doorways in all its walls. Just as Jamz is about to step in, Forus exclaims, "Ah, what happened to you? I'm sorry you didn't die, what a pity!" clapping. Jamz replies, "I won't die in this cursed place. But I can't guarantee that for you, painter." turning to Forus. "Oh? So both our eyes are white now, huh? Very cool..." says Forus, seeing Jamz's eyes. "So? Aren't we going to fight, Tes user?" he continues. "As you can see, I no longer possess a Tes. Stop calling me that." Jamz replies. "Then I'll call you by your name, sir." Forus says. Jamz says, "My name is Jamz." Forus says, "Jamz... A beautiful name. Then..." he takes out his brush and says, "Aren't we going to fight, Jamz?" Jamz quickly attacks, just to find himself not moved at all. His thoughts are interrupted by Forus's words as he tries to understand what happened. "I've drawn a false reality for you. This is the power of my Eqia. I can draw anything." "Since you're going to lose anyway..." Forus enlarges his brush and points it at Jamz, "...Revealing my power won't change the outcome" Forus says. A devilish grin forms on Jamz's face, and he begins to laugh, "DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD DEFEAT ME WITH SUCH A CHEAP TRICK!?" Forus's eyes fill with a mix of confusion and fear, and Jamz begins to walk towards him. "Do you know who I've fought head-to-head with!? I'm someone who's killed literal gods and used their powers with ease! Do you think your power will work!? IT WON'T!" Forus trembles, "OF COURSE I'LL WIN!" "GOD ISN'T EVEN REAL! YOU'RE CLAIMING YOU CAN EASILY DEFEAT, EVEN KILL, MORE THAN ONE, AND USE THEIR POWERS WHEN THERE AREN'T EVEN ONE! NONSENSE!" he exclaims. "So, there are no gods..." Jamz lifts Obisad into the air, saying, "Maybe you can tell one of them when you die, what do you say?" and Obisad turns black again. "SUAW, DO SOMETHING YOU BASTARD-!" These are Forus's last words before he gets split in two... (...)
TIER 9: COPY
As Jamz is about to absorb Forus's corpse, he remembers that Obisad used to only have five jewels on him, and not knowing if there's a limit to his power storage, he doesn't want to risk it. "Idiot." Jamz hears his own voice. "He couldn't even manage that..." Jamz turns around and sees a man who's a clone of himself. "Are you one of these too?" he asks. The man replies, "I'd rather die than be on the same team as that guy." Jamz immediately jumps in and says, "Then die." but just like with Forus, he returns to his spot. "Thanks, Suaw." the man says. "Nice to meet you, Jamz. I'm Wetrus. I'm that useless guy's brother. We're Orgukk, that's the name of the organization... This is the main base and all..." he continues, but Jamz doesn't say a word. "You're not very talkative, are you?" Wetrus says, but his words are cut short. "Don't get in my way if you're not going to fight." Jamz says and moves on, but returns to his spot. "Okay, what do you want?" "We want the power of the Tes. That's our only goal." says Wetrus. "You won't even get an information about it. People like you doesn't deserve anything." Jamz replies. Wetrus says, "Ah, I guess I'll have to resort to force..." and lunges forward. Jamz, without even moving, uses his own to shatter Wetrus's Obisad. "Ridiculous copies, they can't even come close to the original, you thief." he says, and they lunge at each other. Wetrus transforms the broken Obisad into a kind of spear and fights with it. It breaks and turns into a katana, it breaks and turns into a sledgehammer... "You can't keep up with my speed, what happened?" Wetrus says, teasingly. He changes weapons so quickly that Jamz can't touch him and touches the weapons instead. "It seems like a guy who doesn't know how to fight." Jamz says provocatively. Wetrus replies, "Let's see who's ignorant, Tes user!" He lunges forward very quickly, but Jamz defends himself again. "Are we going to fight until we're exhausted now?" Jamz asks immediately afterward. Wetrus replies, "Wouldn't it be better to say 'To the death'... what do you think?" The battle heats up... (...)
TIER 10: ANCIENT
Following the conversation, the battle erupts, the clash of swords echoing underground. "I'm not so bad after all, am I, Jamz!" says Wetrus. Jamz doesn't utter a word and continues to defend himself. Shortly after, Jamz says, "You are able to store the copies, huh? These swords and spears are weapons you saw and pocketed beforehand." Wetrus replies, "Did you just realize that? I thought you were smarter!" and splits himself into a million clones. Jamz, meanwhile, raises his sword, turning it yellow. He himself is surprised, but before he can swing it, all of Wetrus's clones lunge at him. It's too late; without Jamz needing to swing, the entire underground cave transforms into a giant crater. The entire area where the city was located, the entire Orgukk base, every object around Jamz is reduced to atoms. Jamz glides down to the bottom of the crater. Comfortably. He walks down, but finds nothing. Until an Ancient descended from above. It had a small body, long arms and legs, a mouth on its body, bulging eyes, a head attached to its body, and on top of its head, what looked like giant ears but was actually a mouth that opened to the sides. It is shattered and silent. Until its tongue emerges from the mouth on its head… "Perfect… Isn't it?" it vomits blood from the mouth on its stomach. "Wetrus…" Jamz says immediately afterward. "So you're an Ancient too… I've figured it out since the death of Forus. A man once said that only Ancient corpses turn into ebisadon. Am I wrong?" he says, but Wetrus couldn't speak, it could barely stand. Jamz slowly approaches it, but Wetrus collapses to its knees. It doesn't need to speak; it is clear it has accepted defeat and dies gracefully. Jamz looks at Wetrus for a while and then walks away. The city is gone, but Jamz knows that he has a mission. And it happens again, he is teleported back to where he was before, to where Wetrus is. He is now annoyed with the situation and looks around. Just as he is about to move, he hears a sound and looks behind him, towards Wetrus... (...)
TIER 11: VIRUS
When Jamz turned around, he saw a man standing beside Wetrus; red-skinned, with long arms and legs, emaciated, with red needles embedded in his upper body and a crown of thorns where his eyes should be. He pulled one of the needles from his arm and thrust it into Wetrus, making him stand up. At that moment, two more people arrived from above. Forus, who had been seen dead and turned to dust, had returned to ground. And the man beside him... His body, attached to a giant, horizontal, oval structure, emerging from behind him. His body is small, his arms long, and on the oval structure are broken and distorted lines extending towards its ends. On the front of the structure is a stone mask, weeping blood but still smiling... He flies into the crater; he rubs his hands together and begins to speak. "You endured well, Jamz." he says in a lisping, thin, and echoing voice as if coming from afar. "Come on, come on, you never stop coming..." Jamz mutters to himself. Wetrus regains consciousness and begins to circle Jamz, examining and observing him. As Jamz watches Wetrus, the oval-bodied figure begins to speak. "I am Suaw. The leader of the Orgukk... And this red, spiky fellow is Avrutus." he says. Jamz replies, "Suaw, huh? Why are you with him then?" pointing to Forus. "He was cursing you just before I killed him- or at least, just before I thought I killed him." "Don't worry, he's not like he used to be..." After Suaw's words, Forus, resembling a puppet, breaks his Eqia, takes shape, and evolves into a gigantic, dark purple Ancient, resembling Jorr. But this time, it has a mouth. "So that's it. I don't know how you did it, but somehow you split yourself and transformed into two beings you named 'Forus' and 'Jorr.' I think... breaking the Eqia unleashes a power, am I wrong?" Following these words, Jamz draws his Obisad, prepares himself, and takes his guard. Wetrus, Forus, Suaw, and Avrutus attack simultaneously. Jamz thinks he's cut one, but another cuts him from behind; he thinks he's escaped one, but another strikes him; and he thinks he's dodging yet another blow while still taking every single hit... (...)
TIER 12: MIRROR
Jamz finds himself back where he was with every movement, and realizes that whoever he cuts isn't actually where he cut them. He can't even use Obisad anymore. After dozens of cuts, red needles, reflections, and other pains while trying to carry his shattered armor, Jamz struggles. But eventually, he realizes... the reflections... He realizes that Suaw never attacked, only watched from behind, and that the reflections are his doing. No matter how much he wants to attack, he knows the reflections won't leave him alone. He wants to finish off the leader of Orgukk, but he also wants to escape. More than anything. Obisad turns a bright red, and Jamz gets teleported to a place he doesn't know. It's a dark, forest-like place. Just as he's about to fall, Jamz gets up and starts pulling out the needles. He tells himself, countless times, that he must keep going. Just then, someone speaks to him... With no audible voice, it's like a sacred voice speaking inside Jamz's head. A voice, which only Jamz can hear... "Get up." Jamz rises to his feet, astonished; his weariness is gone, his wounds healed, even his armor is as it was before. And what surprises him most is the voice, which is silent. "Why did you want me to stand up... Who are you and what is your purpose?" he asks, to no one but himself. As he wanders around, he sees a castle. A huge, blue castle at the edge of a cliff. He handles Obisad and quickly walks towards the castle. Its gate is enormous, but it withstands Obisad's dark blow. But Jamz remembers the teleportation ability. With a single move, Jamz enters the castle. As Jamz expected, since there wasn't a single window, he is left in pitch darkness. Then the lights come on, and he can clearly see inside the enormous castle. Jamz has guessed that the castle is large, but he hasn't expected it to be this big... (...)
