Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: Officer, Save Me!

After leaving the Pei residence, Jiang Xuxu headed back to Lin Ruirui's home, bringing the Little Ginseng Baby with her.

As soon as she reached the floor, she saw two thugs blocking the door, shouting and banging on it.

"You two little broads, you think hiding inside will make this go away? Who gave you the nerve to take this to court! If you know what's good for you, you'll withdraw that lawsuit immediately. Otherwise, I'll make sure you never have a peaceful day again!"

There was no need to ask; these men were undoubtedly sent by the Qin family.

Although Guan Ruirui was involved in the bullying, she was under eighteen at the time. Even if she were sentenced, it wouldn't be heavyshe might even just get probation.

But Qin Hao was facing charges for the rape of a minor. With the massive online outcry, the court certainly wouldn't brush it under the rug.

Initially, the Qin family had hired internet trolls to smear Lin Ruirui, fearing she would pin her miscarriage on Qin Hao. No one could have predicted that after being catatonic for a year, she would suddenly recover. Her first act upon returning to normal was to sue him.

The Qin family was currently gnashing their teeth in hatred toward Lin Ruirui. Rumor had it they were still online, calling her cold and heartless, claiming their son had pined for her during her year of illness only to be met with such "vengeful" betrayal.

The Qin family tried to manipulate public opinion again, but this time, Lin Ruirui had the Jiang family's legal team as her backbone. With Jiang Huai personally stepping in to help, the netizens weren't swayed by the Qin family's narrative. Instead, people accused the Qins of trying to romanticize a crime.

Harm done in the name of love was still harm.

Some even commented that being "loved" by a son like theirs was simply eight lifetimes of bad luck.

Jiang Xuxu had been following these developments online, so she wasn't particularly surprised by the scene before her.

The two thugs cursed for a while longer before turning around to find a young girl, beautiful as a celestial maiden, standing behind them.

Their eyes lit up, followed quickly by a sinister glint.

"Hey, little sister. You know this family?"

Jiang Xuxu's gaze swept over them, her eyes cold. "I do."

The smiles on the two men deepened.

They had seen Lin Ruirui before; she was indeed pure and lovely, which explained why the young master of the Qin family had lost control of his baser instincts.

Their employer had mentioned that if the girl remained stubborn, they should let her "taste" other men. Once she had been broken, she might not have the energy to cause trouble anymore.

The two thugs had come today with that very intention. Seeing Jiang Xuxu now, their wicked thoughts only intensified.

If this fairy-like girl knew the family, even better. They could lock them both up and play with them together.

She could only blame herself for having poor taste in friends. Who told her friend to mess with the Qin family?

With that thought, one of them smirked and began walking toward Jiang Xuxu.

The other man stayed by the door and shouted inside, "If you don't open up, don't blame us for having a little fun with your friend first."

His tone was thick with malicious mockery, a sound that would make anyone feel sick to their stomach.

Inside, Lin Ruirui had been listening to the commotion. She was huddled together with her mother, clutching her phone and waiting for the police to arrive.

Suddenly, she thought she heard Jiang Xuxu's voice. Remembering what the young master's "Master Jiang" looked like, her expression paled.

Ignoring her fear, she grabbed a nearby wooden club and threw open the door.

At her side, Mother Lin rushed out as well, brandishing a kitchen knife.

Lin Ruirui raised her club, ready to fight for her life against the thugs outside. She had been weak once; she wouldn't be weak again.

Mother Lin shared the same sentiment, her face etched with fierce determination.

"You bastards..."

Before the words could fully leave her mouth, she froze at the sight before her.

Jiang Xuxu stood there completely unharmed. At her feet, the two thugs were pinned flat against the floor. Their faces were contorted with pain and terror, yet they were unable to move, as if a heavy weight were crushing them into the ground.

"Master... Master Xuxu, are you alright?"

Though she looked fine, Lin Ruirui couldn't help but ask.

Jiang Xuxu glanced at the weapons in their hands, her eyes narrowing slightly as a faint smile touched her lips.

"I'm fine."

She looked down at the two men on the floor and added, "Don't worry. The police should be here any moment."

As if on cue, two police officers came up the stairs. They paused, stunned by the scene at the landing.

"Who reported a case of harassment and attempted assault?"

Jiang Xuxu pointed to the two men pinned to the ground. "They did."

"Police Uncle... save me, save me..."

Though they were stuck to the floor, the two thugs were conscious. Their faces were pale with panic as they cried out, "This woman is a witch! She used sorcery to trap us! Police Uncle, help!"

It seemed that regardless of age or profession, everyone called the police "Uncle."

The two young officers looked at them with pure disgust.

Judging by your ages, you should probably be the ones I call 'Uncle.'

Nevertheless, one stepped forward. "Stop shouting. Get up and come with us to the station to give a statement."

The two thugs looked like they were about to cry. "We can't! We can't get up! It's this woman! She cast some kind of spell on us, we're stuck..."

The officers instinctively looked at Jiang Xuxu. Seeing her obedient, innocent appearance and then looking back at the two repulsive thugs, their expressions hardened.

"Stop talking nonsense and get up right now."

As they spoke, each officer grabbed a thug by the arm to haul them up.

The moment their hands made contact, Jiang Xuxu discreetly flicked her finger.

The invisible weight pressing down on the thugs vanished instantly. The officers easily pulled the two men off the floor.

Before the thugs could even react, one of the officers snorted.

"Lying through your teeth. See? You're up."

Without another word, they dragged the men away.

As the complainant and a witness, Lin Ruirui and Jiang Xuxu naturally followed them to the police station.

Beyond seeing the thugs punished, the goal was to indirectly expose the person who had sent them, ensuring the safety of the Lin family.

Jiang Xuxu felt she could handle this on her own. She planned to notify the Jiang family lawyers later to ensure the Qin family was fully implicated so they wouldn't dare cause trouble again.

However, she didn't realize that as she followed the police downstairs, her driver had already dialed Jiang Huai's number.

Inside the Jianghai Group headquarters.

Jiang Yucheng, the company president, was currently meeting with several R&D departments to finalize the schedule for upcoming projects.

As one of the department heads, Jiang Huai was in the middle of a report.

Suddenly, his phone on the table began to ring.

The eyes of everyone in the conference room instinctively turned toward the device.

Jiang Yucheng's brow furrowed. He hated a lack of focus during meetings and expected basic etiquette like silencing phones, even from his own son. He was ready to give him a piece of his mind.

But despite the heavy, oppressive atmosphere radiating from Jiang Yucheng, Jiang Huai remained perfectly calm. He picked up the phone and, instead of silencing it, answered it right in front of everyone.

Jiang Yucheng's expression soured further. Nearby, Jiang Yutong was already bracing himself to put out the fire.

Then, they watched as Jiang Huai's calm, smiling face instantly froze upon hearing the report from the other end. His expression went cold, and his beautiful peach blossom eyes narrowed into a dangerous, predatory arc.
