Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: My Sister Doesn't Deserve to be Wronged

On the single sofa on one side of the living room, Jiang Yucheng sat expressionlessly in place, the water stains from the teacup spreading out on the table.

After a long while, he slightly turned his gaze to Jiang Su, and asked in a calm tone, "Xuxu is my daughter. Is my daughter not worthy of being your older sister?"

The teenager, who had been acting recklessly just now, visibly shrank back.

"Granduncle, I, I didn't mean that..."

Jiang Huai, who was on the side, watched with a smile as his father suppressed the younger one with a single glance. He turned his head and simply looked at Lu Xuexi.

"Xuexi, do you feel like you're being wronged living in the Jiang family?"

Lu Xuexi, being called out by name, immediately turned pale and hurriedly denied, "No, Brother Jiang Huai, you misunderstood me."

"Since you're not, then don't say things that can be misunderstood in the future." Jiang Huai still had that smile in the corner of his eyes, his voice gentle and pleasant, but carrying a pressure that made people not dare to act rashly.

Lu Xuexi opened her mouth, and after a long while, lowered her head, not daring to say anything more, but secretly bit her lip at the moment of bowing her head.

Yao Lin, who was on the side, spoke in a timely manner to smooth things over, "It was my fault for not arranging things properly. It's just a room, it's not a big deal."

"Second Aunt's arrangement was indeed a bit inappropriate." As the eldest grandson of the Jiang family, Jiang Huai never minced words even when speaking to his elders. "Xuxu is my sister, the Jiang family's young miss. Living in a room converted from a nursery that others have vacated will inevitably make people laugh."

As he said that, he suddenly put his arm around Guan Xuxu's shoulders, looking like he was protecting his cub. "My sister has come home, not to be wronged like this."

His words, intentionally or unintentionally, made Lu Xuexi's cheeks flush red. She had just hinted to everyone that she had been wronged, but Jiang Huai turned around and said that letting Guan Xuxu live in the room she had used was the real grievance.

Wasn't this slapping her face?

And on this side, Guan Xuxu, who had been suddenly embraced by the shoulders, stiffened.

It was unknown whether it was because of Jiang Huai's action or because of his words.

As for being wronged, it couldn't really be said.

Compared to what she had suffered in the Guan family, these few words were nothing.

But this was the first time someone had cared about whether she would be wronged.

Her heart was warm, as if she was feeling for the first time what kind of existence family was.

There was an obvious awkwardness on Yao Lin's face, but she secretly cursed that Jiang Huai was still as unyielding as ever when it came to giving her face. She subconsciously looked at Jiang Yucheng and the Old Master Jiang,

but saw that neither of them were speaking, so she could only suppress the frustration in her heart and try to maintain her elegant appearance. "Jiang Huai is right, it was Second Aunt who didn't consider things thoroughly. Then I'll have someone rearrange it."

Jiang Huai immediately smiled and nodded at her. "Then I'll trouble Second Aunt to handle it as soon as possible."

As he spoke, he turned to everyone. "I'll take Xuxu to the garden for a stroll first."

After saying that, without caring what the others in the hall thought, he led Guan Xuxu to the garden.

After the two left, the atmosphere in the hall sank. Yao Lin felt extremely wronged and opened her mouth, wanting to explain, when the butler walked in from outside and said to the Old Master Jiang,

"Master, the gatekeeper called and said that a Mrs. Guan has come to visit."

With the surname Guan, everyone subconsciously thought of Guan Xuxu.

They thought to themselves, wasn't this person just brought over from the Guan family? Why did they come chasing after her so eagerly?

"She's probably here to see Xuxu, right? It seems they can't bear to part with this child." The Third Madam of the Jiang family said with a smile, also trying to ease the atmosphere.

She had noticed earlier that Guan Xuxu hadn't brought any luggage when she entered the house.

Although she didn't know the reason, the Guan family should have come specifically to deliver her luggage, right?

That's right, knowing that Xuxu was the Jiang family's daughter, the Guan family wouldn't be so confused as to do something as stupid as not even giving her luggage.

The butler seemed to hesitate for a moment, and said, "That Mrs. Guan said that she came to visit the Third Madam."

The smile on the Third Madam of the Jiang family's face stiffened, inexplicably confused. "Looking for me?"

The Guan family's Madam didn't come to see her child, what was she doing looking for her??

On the other side.

The Jiang family's garden was a typical European style. The antique fence on the side of the villa was covered with roses, and the well-maintained lawn was filled with greenery, making it even more brilliant in the hot summer.

Guan Xuxu followed behind Jiang Huai, listening to him casually introduce some small things in the garden, but her thoughts quietly drifted back to the scene where Jiang Huai had stood up for her in the living room.

There was some strange, subtle feeling.

After a long while, she couldn't help but softly say, "Thank you."

Jiang Huai stopped, looked at her, and suddenly smiled and rubbed her head. "You don't need to say thank you to your brother."

Guan Xuxu just looked at him like that, with his messy hair on top of her head, her whole person inexplicably revealing a sense of daze, making the smile in Jiang Huai's eyes deepen.

Just as he was about to say something, the phone rang at the right time. Jiang Huai glanced at the caller ID, signaled Guan Xuxu to wander around as she pleased, and walked to the side to answer the phone.

Guan Xuxu walked forward on her own. After walking about ten steps, her gaze suddenly fell on an auntie who was wiping tables and chairs in the garden pavilion.

That auntie was about fifty years old, and her appearance was unremarkable, but from Guan Xuxu's angle, she could easily see the strands of Yin Sha energy entwined around the other person's body, which only those who had been stained with evil karma would have.

Guan Xuxu generally didn't like to meddle in other people's business, because taking the initiative to get involved was easy to attract karma.

But if she left the person in front of her alone, the Yin Sha energy on her body might affect the others in the family.

She walked forward.

The auntie had a rag in her hand, wiping mechanically, with a dazed expression, her eyes occasionally looking in one direction, until Guan Xuxu walked in front of her, she suddenly came back to her senses, and hurriedly greeted her,

"M-Miss."

"You recognize me?" Guan Xuxu was a little surprised. She had only been in this house for a little over half an hour, and she hadn't even recognized all the people in the Jiang family.

"The butler took photos and had all the servants in the house recognize them in advance, so that we wouldn't accidentally bump into the Miss." The auntie explained with a flattering smile.

Guan Xuxu didn't expect the Jiang family to have made such arrangements in advance, silently, but considerate enough, worthy of being a large family.

"Is there anything you need, Miss?" The auntie asked again when she saw that she wasn't speaking.

Guan Xuxu was about to open her mouth when she saw two familiar figures suddenly walking through the garden gate.

It was Bai Shuqin and Guan Ruirui.

When the two were led in by the butler in a suit, they also saw Guan Xuxu in the pavilion at a glance. Seeing her, both of them had a look of astonishment on their faces.

"Why are you here?!"
