"If that's not the case," Camilla spoke smoothly, tilting her head to the side and giving him a challenging look. "Then take me."
Damon gritted his teeth. He was trapped. He could not tell her the truth about the danger, but he could not let her think he was hiding another woman.
He opened his mouth, trying to find another excuse to protest.
"Camilla, you don't under—" Damon tried to explain.
Before the words could fully leave his mouth, Camilla leaned forward with speed. She pressed her lips directly against his mouth. It was a very quick kiss. It effectively cut off his sentence.
Damon blinked, stunned by the sudden kiss. He pulled his head back slightly to try and speak again.
"The journey is—" Damon protested again.
Camilla leaned forward and kissed him again. Another short, sweet, silencing peck on the lips.
Damon frowned. He tried one more time.
"I cannot let—" Damon argued.
