1 month passed in the blink of an eye,Eldrin had never stopped fighting.
Not even for a second,he slaughtered countless mindless ones; he had lost long ago.
Eldrin scythe danced in the battlefield filled with an ocean of mindless ones, his scythe reaping their lives, each attack killing hundreds of them, his shadow manipulation working perfectly along with his fighting style.
Eldrin stomped his foot to the ground, cracking it,and in an instant, hundreds of thousands of shadow spikes manifested before the mindless one's feet, piercing their stone bodies with near-perfect precision, ending them.
Eldrin swept his scythe horizontally in a wide arc, sending a giant 100-meter-long slash made of darkness that caused tens of thousands of mindless ones to die.
He raised his one hand, absorbing the remnants of demonic energy that resided inside the mindless ones' bodies, fuelling his power further.
Multiple consecutive dark purple shockwaves exploded outward with Eldrin in the center; they held just enough dark magic to kill mindless ones, and consumed negligible amounts of magic power.
Theoretically, as long as he keeps absorbing enough demonic energy from the mindless ones, he could keep unleashing these shockwaves endlessly; however, his body, although powerful, couldn't unleash an endless burst of dark magic infused with shockwaves without slowly crumbling down.

.
Invincible world,Earth.
The construction of the steel wall was completed days ago; it surrounded the entire empire, spanning thousands of kilometers. New York was different now, although the civilian buildings had remained the same, the city was completely surrounded by that steel all, isolating it from the outside. It made an awe-inspiring sight; in the center of said city was a tall building made of steel, looking like a futuristic castle.
Sebastian sat on the steel throne, his face filled with despair and injustice.
Eldrin had done it again; he had shifted the responsibility to someone else and unfortunately, that was Sebastian, now Emperor of the new empire built by the humans of the invincible world.
Sebastian, who normally wore an elegantly calm expression, now looked to be on the brink of tears.
He looked at the throne hall, his voice cracking.
"Why must such misfortune befall upon me,why me!"
Sebastian started silently sobbing.
"It could have been anyone else! Why must it be me!?"
He took a tissue out and wiped the tears from his face. He wasn't fit to be a king, just like Eldrin; they were both warriors, not leaders, making a warrior a king is like forcing a barbarian to become a librarian,an experience of four centuries couldn't save either of them from sheer incompetence,at most they could serve as generals.
Eldrin's amused voice broke Sebastian's despair.
"No need to be sad, you will do just fine! You have my four centuries of experience, which has to be enough"
Eldrin's shadow clone grinned in sadism, which was unusual.
"Right!?"
Sebastian glanced at the shadow clone in resentment, but he forced a smile.
"My liege! What brings you here?"
Eldrin calmly walked up to Sebastian, flicked his nose and disappeared.
The silence was tense. Sebastian's expression was filled with bafflement, but before he could figure out what that was about, Eldrin's shadow clone appeared again, flickering Sebastian's nose again and disappearing.
A giant question mark made of darkness manifested above Sebastian's head. He closed his eyes and smiled, yet the vein popping on his forehead clearly indicated his annoyance.
He spoke, his voice holding a trace of annoyance.
"My liege,are you here to-
But Eldrin's clone appeared and flicked his nose again and disappeared.
Sebastian, still with that same smile, shook as steam started coming out of his head.
Eldrin appeared again, but this time Sebastian grabbed his hand before Eldrin could flick his nose again.
"HA!"
But Beside Sebastian was another clone of Eldrin who flicked his nose.
"But this time, Eldrin spoke with amusement.
"Remember that time that you snitched on me on Erskine, almost dooming me to a terrible fate of paperwork"
Eldrin's smile grew.
"That's payback"
Sebastian's eyes widened in disbelief; he felt wronged.
His voice was filled with injustice when he spoke.
"You have cursed me with such a fate because of a prank,my liege?!"
Eldrin's eyes held a trace of fear when he recounted that day.
"A prank that almost cost me my life, you and I both know that I can't survive such an amount of paperwork"
Sebastian however, called out the bullshit immediately. He and Eldrin were essentially brothers, along with the fact that they both shared the same memories.
"That is absolute horseshit, my liege, you are just lazy and can't be bothered to do such a task"
Eldrin nodded in agreement and patted Sebastian on the head.
"Exactly, however unlike me, you are a disciplined, responsible, wisdom-filled genius who can do everything and anything,so leaving you with such a task is the logically correct decision"
Sebastian clutched his nonexistent heart and stumbled backward. What Eldrin said might sound like a compliment, which it was,but it also served a secret purpose, now Eldrin had a legitimate reason to shift every kind of boring task to Sebastian.
Eldrin could simply act irresponsible and incompetent to the point that everyone would entrust every task to Sebastian without a second thought.
Basically, he had become a secretary who did everything because his boss did nothing.
Sebastian could take it no longer, and his feet turned into jelly.
Eldrin shook his head in amusement.
"You are 1000 years too Early to outsmart me, Sebastian"
Sebastian looked at Eldrin with hollow eyes, his voice filled with defeat.
"We are the same age,my liege"
Eldrin completely ignored that and spoke with seriousness.
"I see they made some progress. Perhaps if I could buy them even more time, they could reach more than sufficient strength"
Sebastian, still kneeling because his feet had turned into shadow jelly, nodded.
"If you could do that my liege, it would be massively appreciated"
His tone turned slightly nervous.
"With their current technological prowess, I'm afraid they don't stand much of a chance and even 3 year's later, their strength would still be insufficient"
His tone turned exasperated.
"Only a miracle can save them from their inevitable annihilation"
But something caused both of them to snap their head towards a specific direction.
Eldrin, without looking at Sebastian, spoke with slight concern.
"Can you handle them, Sebastian?"
Sebastian finally got up from the ground, his tone heavy.
"If it were only conquest, then perhaps by some miracle, but with that woman with him, it won't even be a fight, I am completely outmatched"
