Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 – The Arena Responds

The silence didn't last long.

It never did in this place.

The moment the pressure from Rudra and that man faded—

Something else took its place.

Heavier.

Colder.

More… absolute.

The ground beneath me began to vibrate.

Not like before.

Not random.

Controlled.

Deliberate.

I felt it before I heard it.

The system.

The voice returned.

But this time—

It wasn't calm.

It wasn't distant.

It was aware.

"Irregular activity detected."

Every soul froze.

Even those who had been watching from a distance stepped back.

Fear spread instantly.

Real fear.

"What… is happening?" I muttered.

No one answered.

Because they already knew.

"Unauthorized interference confirmed."

My chest tightened.

That word again.

Interference.

The same thing the man said.

The same thing Rudra implied.

"Subject identified."

A pause.

Long.

Heavy.

Then—

"Anshu."

My heart skipped.

It said my name.

Not like the shadows.

Not like Rudra.

This felt different.

This felt—

Final.

The air around me compressed.

I couldn't move.

Couldn't breathe properly.

As if something invisible had locked onto me.

"Status: Living Soul."

Murmurs spread instantly.

"…living…"

"…confirmed…"

"…this is bad…"

My mind raced.

So it knows.

Of course it does.

This place—

It sees everything.

"Anomaly classification updated."

The pressure increased.

My knees almost gave in.

"Interference Level: Rising."

The ground cracked beneath my feet.

Lines of faint light spread across the stone.

Forming something.

A pattern.

A circle.

No—

A seal.

I looked down.

"What is this…?"

No answer.

Only the voice.

"Corrective action required."

Fear hit me instantly.

Not like before.

This wasn't a creature.

This wasn't a fight.

This was something bigger.

Something I couldn't run from.

"Initiating Special Trial."

The words echoed through the entire Arena.

And for the first time—

Even the strongest souls stepped back.

"…special trial…"

"…he's done for…"

"…no one survives those…"

My breathing became uneven.

"What kind of trial…?"

The voice answered.

Cold.

Unfeeling.

"Trial Type: Isolation."

The light beneath me intensified.

Blinding.

My body felt heavy.

Then—

Weightless.

The world disappeared again.

I hit the ground.

Hard.

Pain shot through my body.

But I forced myself up immediately.

This place—

Was different.

Completely.

No other souls.

No crowd.

No arena.

Just—

Silence.

And space.

Endless space.

The ground was smooth.

Dark.

Like glass.

The sky—

Didn't exist.

Just emptiness.

I stood alone.

My breathing slow.

Careful.

"This is the trial…?" I whispered.

No answer.

But something felt off.

This silence wasn't empty.

It was watching.

Then—

The voice returned.

But softer now.

Closer.

"Objective: Stabilize self."

I frowned.

"What does that mean?"

No response.

A pause.

Then—

"Failure will result in erasure."

My chest tightened.

Of course it would.

Everything here ends like that.

I exhaled slowly.

"Stabilize… myself…"

The words echoed in my mind.

Then I remembered—

That moment.

During the fight.

When everything slowed.

When I moved without thinking.

When I heard—

Her.

"Don't think."

My eyes widened slightly.

"…feel."

I closed my eyes.

Slowly.

Carefully.

At first—

Nothing.

Just darkness.

Then—

Noise.

Not outside.

Inside.

Thoughts.

Memories.

Fragments.

The road.

The crash.

Lily.

Her voice.

My breathing became uneven.

"No… focus…"

I clenched my fists.

Tried again.

This time—

I didn't fight it.

I let it come.

The memories.

The feelings.

The fear.

The guilt.

Everything.

And slowly—

Something changed.

The noise became quieter.

Not gone.

But… organized.

Like it was aligning.

My breathing steadied.

My body relaxed.

For the first time since I arrived—

I felt control.

Not strength.

Not power.

Control.

Then—

It happened again.

That feeling.

The world around me shifted.

Subtly.

The space felt clearer.

Sharper.

I opened my eyes.

And saw it.

Not physically.

Not fully.

But I could feel it.

The flow.

The movement.

The pattern of everything around me.

"…this is it…" I whispered.

My ability.

Or whatever it was.

It wasn't about speed.

Or strength.

It was—

Awareness.

The space behind me shifted.

Instantly—

I turned.

Something moved.

A distortion.

Like before.

But smaller.

Unstable.

The same kind of presence as the creature.

I reacted.

Without thinking.

Stepped aside.

The distortion passed through where I was standing.

Gone.

Then another.

From the left.

I moved.

Clean.

Precise.

Another.

From behind.

I didn't even turn.

I just shifted.

Avoided.

Perfectly.

My breathing stayed calm.

Steady.

No panic.

No hesitation.

This—

Was different.

I wasn't reacting anymore.

I was anticipating.

The distortions stopped.

The space became still again.

The voice returned.

"Stability: Achieved."

My chest rose slowly.

I did it.

But—

It didn't feel like victory.

It felt like the beginning.

The light beneath me returned.

The world began to shift again.

Before I left—

The voice spoke one last time.

"Ability recognized."

A pause.

Then—

"Designation: Perception."

The word echoed in my mind.

Perception.

That's what it was.

I exhaled slowly.

"…so that's my power."

The light consumed everything.

And once again—

I was pulled back.

To the Soulbound Arena.

When I returned—

Everything was different.

No one spoke.

No one moved.

They were all watching me.

But now—

There was no doubt in their eyes.

Only certainty.

"…he survived…"

"…special trial…"

"…alone…"

"…impossible…"

I stood there.

Calm.

Still.

But inside—

Something had changed.

Something permanent.

Not just in me—

In how this place saw me.

I looked around slowly.

Then said—

"I'm not done."

Silence followed.

But this time—

It wasn't fear.

It was acknowledgment.
