Chapter 21 - “The Watch in the Darkness”

Ajay drives the car, but his entire focus is on the dead body kept in the trunk.

Vikash is also extremely scared from the inside, wondering who could have killed that man and why his body was placed in Ajay's car trunk like this. Throughout the journey, Vikash keeps thinking—who could have killed him? Even after thinking a lot, not once does he suspect Alka.

After some time, they all reach a riverside ghat.

Vijay lovingly says to Alka,

"Alka, come out and see how beautiful the view is here."

"But Vijay, we've just come a little distance. Let's go a bit further, otherwise what's the point of coming here? We could have walked this far."

"Of course, we'll go further. But let's stay here for a while and enjoy this beautiful view. Okay?"

"Alright, since you're insisting."

Vijay takes Alka toward the edge of the ghat and, while going, signals Ajay to throw the body near the river with Vikash.

They do exactly that. But while throwing the body, Vikash finds Alka's watch near it—the same watch that had slipped from her hand while she was hitting with a stick and had fallen into the car trunk.

Vikash recognizes the watch because he himself had bought it with Vijay after visiting many shops to gift it to Alka.

"How did this watch get here?"

Now, a slight suspicion begins to arise in Vikash's mind about Alka, but—

After throwing the body into the water, Vikash and Ajay signal Vijay to leave.

"Alright Alka, let's move ahead now."

"You're so strange! It hasn't even been five minutes since we got here, and you already want to leave? First take some good pictures of me, okay?"

Alka clicks several pictures there—sometimes alone, sometimes with Vijay. But seeing her childish behavior, Ajay gets very angry because he just wants to get rid of the body and leave before someone sees them.

Vijay understands Ajay's restlessness and somehow convinces Alka to leave.

"Please Alka, look how much time has passed. Let's go now."

Alka, a little annoyed, says, "Okay, let's go."

Meanwhile, Ravi is deeply disturbed by the strange things happening around him. He quietly sits curled up in a corner of the room, scared, just waiting for something to happen.

On the other side, Inspector Akhil finds something very strange while examining a medical report. The report lists the deaths of many people, and the cause is stated as medicines produced by Vijay.

"How is this possible—so many deaths caused by medicines from Vijay's hospital?"

Although this case has no direct connection to Vishal's death, Inspector Akhil feels a strong urge to investigate it further.

He goes to Vijay's house again and, after checking his computer, finds another list. Seeing one particular name on it, he is shocked.

Here, we come to know why Inspector Akhil is so interested in Vishal's death.

Three years ago, a competition was held at Vijay's hospital. The winner would receive 10 crore rupees. No one knew what exactly had to be done in that competition.

But everyone who participated in it died one by one under different circumstances—someone died in a road accident, someone jumped from a terrace, someone brutally injured themselves with knives, and someone was burned to death.

To investigate these deaths, Vishal was appointed. However, his investigation cleared Vijay and his hospital of all accusations.

The deaths were declared to be due to frustration. It was said that the participants couldn't handle such a huge amount of money, fell into bad habits, wasted it all, and when they took loans and couldn't repay them, they ended their own lives one by one.

This explanation was hard to believe, but Vishal somehow managed to create evidence supporting his claims and forced everyone to accept his illogical reasoning.

The court also found no evidence against Vijay or his hospital, so they accepted Vishal's argument and closed the case.

Inspector Akhil's ex-wife was also one of the participants in that competition.

They had divorced, and due to her self-respect, she refused to accept any financial help from Akhil even after the divorce. Because of her divorced status, she wasn't treated well anywhere. Wherever she worked, people treated her like an outcast, forcing her to quit her jobs.

Although Inspector Akhil loved his wife deeply and tried to win her back, it was perhaps too late.

When she came to know about the competition, she also decided to participate.

But within a few days, she was found severely injured.
