That night, Maya couldn't sleep.
She kept hearing that voice in her head.
"Don't go…"
It echoed again and again.
She turned in her bed, holding her head tightly.
"Why does it feel so real?" she whispered.
Then suddenly—
A flash.
Rain pouring heavily.
A hand reaching out.
"Arjun!"
Maya sat up, breathing fast.
Her heart was racing.
"I remember…" she whispered.
But not everything.
Just pieces.
Broken… painful pieces.
Next Day
Maya ran to the bus stop.
She didn't wait.
She didn't think.
She just ran.
Arjun was already there.
The moment he saw her, he knew something had changed.
"Maya?" he said softly.
Maya walked toward him slowly.
Her eyes were filled with tears.
"I saw it…" she said.
Arjun's expression froze.
"What did you see?" he asked quietly.
Maya's voice trembled.
"The accident."
Silence.
The world seemed to stop again.
"I was crossing the road…" Maya said, her voice shaking.
"You were calling me…"
Arjun closed his eyes.
"Maya…" he whispered.
"And then…" she continued, tears falling,
"I saw a car coming fast…"
Her breathing became uneven.
"And you… you ran toward me…"
Arjun looked at her, pain clearly visible now.
"You pushed me."
Maya's voice broke completely.
"You saved me."
Tears rolled down Arjun's face.
"I couldn't let anything happen to you," he said.
Maya shook her head.
"But you got hurt," she said.
Arjun stayed silent.
Maya stepped closer.
"Tell me the truth," she said.
"What happened to you that day?"
Arjun hesitated.
For the first time, he looked afraid.
"Maya… some memories are better left—"
"No," Maya said firmly.
"I want to know."
A long pause.
Then Arjun spoke.
"That car didn't just hit you…" he said slowly.
Maya's heart stopped.
"It hit me too."
