Chapter 12 - The Bond that Never Changes

The night grew deeper, but sleep never came to any of them. The silence of the house felt heavy, almost suffocating. Each of them lay awake in their separate rooms, staring into the darkness while their thoughts refused to rest.

Emma turned on her bed again and again, unable to find peace. The argument kept replaying in her mind. Every harsh word felt like a sharp ache in her chest. She wiped her tears and sat up, whispering softly to herself, "I shouldn't have said those things…" The guilt was too strong to ignore. Slowly, she got up and stepped out of her room.

In the room down the hallway, Ella was going through the same struggle. She hugged her pillow tightly, trying to hold back her tears, but the memories of their friendship made it impossible. The laughter, the promises, the countless moments they had shared together — how could she let all of that disappear because of one fight? Taking a deep breath, she finally stood up and opened her door.

At that exact moment, Elia also sat up in her room. Her heart felt heavy with regret. She knew their friendship meant far more than her pride. After wiping the tears from her face, she quietly left her room as well.

The hallway outside was dimly lit and silent. As Emma stepped out, she suddenly noticed another door opening. Ella slowly walked out of her room. A second later, Elia appeared from the other side of the hallway.

For a moment, all three of them froze in surprise. None of them had expected the others to come out at the same time. They simply stood there, looking at one another, their eyes filled with guilt, sadness, and hope.

Emma was the first to speak. Her voice trembled slightly as she said, "I… I'm really sorry."

Ella quickly shook her head, tears forming in her eyes again. "No, I should be the one apologizing."

Elia stepped closer to them and sighed softly. "We all made mistakes tonight," she said gently. "But our friendship is too important to lose over this."

The silence that followed was filled with understanding. Without another word, the three friends stepped closer and wrapped their arms around each other in a tight hug.

Tears fell once again, but this time they were not from sadness. They were tears of relief — the relief of knowing that their bond was still strong enough to bring them back together.

Standing there in the quiet hallway of their home, Emma, Ella, and Elia realized something they would never forget: no matter how big the fight, their friendship would always find its way back.
