The day of the flight had arrived, most of the staff were already at the airport awaiting the others.
Jade was standing by the VIP lounge, impatiently tapping her feet.
"Damn it, where is Andy and Ken? It's normal for Ken to do something like this but not Andy."
"Oh come on, I'm sure he's on his way here, besides, it's not like Andy was robbed or something."
Ashley states as she reads through a magazine.
As the minutes ticked by, the remaining staff arrived but still no sign of Andy and Ken.
Ashley watched as Jade grew more and more angrier by the minutes.
She grabbed her phone and tried to call Andy, but the call didn't go through.
She tried again and again but still no answer.
Ashley turned towards Rumi, Marie and Alex who were discussing the activities they would be doing.
"I was thinking about some skinny dipping at night, what about you Marie, what do you wanna do?" Alex asked her.
Marie thought for a few seconds before answering. "I just wanna relax and build sandcastles."
Marie uttered, blushing a little.
"Lame but okay, what about you Rumi, I know you have something in mind." Alex uttered, leaning in to listen.
Rumi just stared at her, her expression one of pure boredom.
"I just want to get drunk and pass out." Rumi replied slowly.
Alex and Marie were shocked for a while, but soon Alex started smiling.
"Oh I see, well I'll join you then." He stated.
Ashley approached the three of them and cleared her throat, signaling her presence.
"Hey guys, have any of you heard from Andy? Jade is getting impatient over there."
Rumi shakes her head slowly, her gaze now locked on her phone.
"Sorry boss, I haven't seen or heard from him since the meeting."
"Now that you mention it, I haven't seen him since he walked me home that same day as well, hmm maybe he's just busy."
Alex stated as he thought of possibilities to where Andy might be.
"Wait, what time was it? When he took you home, that is?"
Ashley asked, her tone now carrying a slight hint of concern.
"I don't know, maybe close to midnight or something, but I did warn him about the criminals in the neighbourhood."
Alex added.
Ashley pinched the bridge hard, almost bruising it.
"Oh god, I just hope he's okay."
She uttered to herself more than anyone else.
The minutes passed by quickly, but still Andy was nowhere to be seen.
Jade started pacing around as only 30 minutes remained until take off..
"I swear, if those two idiots are the reason we miss our flight, I'm gonna...." Jade uttered coldly.
But before she could finish her sentence, a voice she knew all too well echoed through the waiting room.
"Dont worry Jade, for I have made it in time." Ken stated as he slowly approached them.
Sunglasses up, an overconfident smile and too much luggage for what's supposed to be a week long trip.
Ashley, jade and the rest all stared at him with annoyance and indifference.
"Ken you muscle headed idiot, where is Andy?."
Jade asked him, placing her finger underneath his chin.
Ken scolfed a little as he swatted her hand away.
"How am i supposed to know, if anything he might be dead somewhere."
He started, laughing a little as he sat next to Alex.
"Hey beautiful, I didn't catch your name last time, Ken the name and you?"
He asked her, moving slightly closer.
Alex recoiled and sat next to Ashley, his shoulders. "Eww." He muttered as Ashley patted his back.
But as Jade was about to do something she may never regret, Andy finally arrived five minutes before take off.
"Hey everyone, I'm here as promised..." he uttered, his tone and words coming out a bit rough.
"Finally, do you know how long we've.....what the hell?." Jade muttered as she saw the condition Andy was in.
Andy had bandages wrapped around his right eye and torso, as well as a cast on his left arm.
His upper lip was cut and slightly swollen and his nose was a light shade of purple.
"Sorry I'm late, I had a doctor's appointment scheduled before the flight."
He started as he scratched his butt.
Everyone stared at him, their mouth slightly ajar in disbelief and concern.
"Damn boss, what the hell happened to you?"
Rumi asked the first of many questions.
"I got into a fight with some thugs a few days back. But don't worry, I handled it."
He stated, wincing as he raised his arm.
"Handle what, you look like you lost everything! Is this your way of handling this?"
Ashley stated as she reprimanded him. Jade couldn't utter a word, she just shook her head.
"I don't have time for this, you'll find me in first class." She stated as she left.
"Oh come, he's your employee too, how are we going to pay for this?" Ashley asked.
"We're an insurance company, do I need to explain more?" Jade states as she books in.
Ashley groans with barely contained anger as she points her finger at Andy.
She opens her mouth but nothing comes out, so she merely turns and walks away.
"Ken lets go, Now!"
She tells him without turning to look."
Ken stands up and stares at Andy, a little smirk appearing briefly on his face.
"Looking good Mr Matthews, looking good." He states before leaving.
Everyone else follows suit, whispering and muttering under their breath.
"Huh, didn't expect that." Andy states as he follows behind them.
