Chapter 15 - Extra Work Habits 2. New Friend

Rumi walked through town without a care in the world. She was headed to a local cafe Andy hand told her about a few weeks ago.

She wanted to try one of their famous lattes Andy had bragged about during their lunch breaks.

"I hope Andy wasn't just praising his little cafe, cause I really need to pick me up." She thought.

The Cafe was now in range, she had just crossed the street and she was there. The stop sign flashed red as the cars sped fast.

Rumi watched on as the sped past her in a flash. She tapped her shoe against the pavement in annoyance.

When the light turned red, she was the first to react as she quickly sprinted across. She managed to gain the gaze of a few people on the way.

She was panting heavily when she reached the other side, her tired eyes locked right onto the door.

"F-finally, I can get this over with and go back to work....great." she muttered as she wiped a fresh sheen of sweat off of her.

As she opened the door, she was greeted with the strong and potent smell of fresh coffee beans and milk.

The interior was bright and colourful, something Rumi found quite unsettling.

Multiple young and attractive ladies were serving blushing customers on every table.

One tall and dark skinned woman approached her, she seemed to be one of the waiters.

She also had a bright and welcoming smile that made Rumi self conscious

"Hello ma'am, welcome Paradise Cafe! Where there is an extra spoon of sugar just to make your day a bit sweeter."

She started making a little heart symbol with her hands.

"How may I serve you this fine morning?" The woman asked.

Rumi reached into her pocket and pulled out a scrambled piece of paper.

"Do you have one of these?. My boss says it's really good." She told the woman.

Looking at the paper, she tapped her cheek lightly. "Well yes, we do have this but no one has ordered this in a while. Would you like one ma'am." The woman asked.

Rumi nodded slowly, her gaze already on her phone. The woman nodded and guided Rumi towards the counter.

Rumi on the stool as the woman adjusted it to meet her height.

"Okay, please wait a few minutes while we prepare your latte." The woman told Rumi.

Rumi nodded slightly at her, that was the only acknowledgment she would receive.

Rumi watched as the other customers enjoyed themselves, she didn't care didn't care about anyone else though.

She was just bored.

"I wonder what Marie is doing right now?" She thought to herself.

As she was deep in thought, she didn't notice the individual seated next to her.

Rumi turned and stared at the woman, a beautiful blue haired individual. She had soft features that perfectly mirrored voice and attitude.

She noticed Rumi staring and waved a shy hand towards her. "Umm hello there...." she stated as she looked away.

"Yeah hi....." Rumi replied, her voice coming out rough.

"I really need that latte." She muttered to herself.

The waiter returned and placed the latte on the counter. "One Super Double Shot Full Cream Chocolate Latte!!." She declared.

Rumi reached out for it as her other hand emerged through her purse. She tugged lightly on the latte, trying to pull it away.

But she felt some immediate resistance, when she turned to place the money on the counter, she found that the blue haired woman also did the exact same thing.

The blue haired woman immediately let go, allowing Rumi to pay for her latte.

"Sorry, i didn't think anyone else ordered this anymore..... i'll just....sorry.." she apologized.

The waiter went back and brought another latte, "Sorry, i must have forgotten about the other one, please accept my apology." She stated.

The blue haired woman nodded and paid the waiter. "Keep the change..." she stated as she stood up.

Rumi followed her towards the table at the far end. "Hey wait, I want to talk to you for a bit." She stated.

The blue haired woman was frightened but slowly nodded. They talked for a few minutes, Rumi found herself a little from time to time.

When she looked at her watch, she noticed she had eaten into her morning break.

"Fuck look at the time, sorry but i have to go, if i dont my boss will have me by the ear....literally." she said as she got up.

The woman nodded, "It's okay, I have to go to work too, it's my first day actually and i dont want to be late." She stated as they both got up.

They both stepped out of the cafe and back into the busy street. "Oh, I didn't get your name by the way.." Rumi stated.

"My name is Rumi Yagi and you are?" Rumi asked as she started off the introductions.

"Alex Moore... and for your information im actually a....man...." Alex started with a slight blush.

Rumi stopped mid step, her eyes widening as sipped her latte.

"What??!!??" She uttered.
