After leaving Saffron City, Ash and his group were on the road to Celadon City. Right now, however, it was lunchtime.

Accompanied by a rich aroma, Ash and Brock were continuously stir-frying dishes under Misty's awestruck gaze. Misty could only marvel at how great it was to travel with two people who knew how to cook.
Once Ash and Brock finished cooking, Misty had already prepared the bowls and chopsticks. The three of them and their group of Pokémon sat down and comfortably enjoyed their lunch. During this time, Ash continuously explained how to cook to suit the Pokémon's tastes.
"Brock, for your Rock-type Pokémon, you should actually prepare more special stones for them. This is very beneficial for their growth. "Here, eat some if you're hungry."
"Mankey!" Seeing Ash being so nice, Mankey happily took the food and sat to the side to eat.
"Pikachu." Looking at Mankey, Pikachu suddenly let out a sigh, recalling how back in Pallet Town, was this how Nidoking and the others used to mooch food when they were still Nidoran?
After Ash and his group finished eating, they said goodbye to Mankey. Seeing them preparing to leave, Mankey also waved to see them off.
"Twerp, we finally found you!"
As the Team Rocket trio once again blocked Ash's group, the three humans, along with Pikachu, Meowth, and Chansey, looked helplessly at these three stooges.
"It's you guys. So what do you want this time?"
"Do you even need to ask, meow? To snatch your Pikachu, of course, meow!"
"Oh. Actually, I personally think a talking Pokémon like you, Meowth, is much more sought after. Look at my Meowth, isn't he very popular with the professors?"
Hearing Ash say this, Jessie and James suddenly realized something.
Jessie: "Now that the twerp mentions it..."
James: "It seems that really is the case."
Meowth looked at his two companions who had been led astray and directly bared his claws.
"You two idiots, meow!"

Accompanied by Jessie and James's screams, Meowth said impatiently, "The twerp is just stalling for time."
Watching these three, Ash helplessly pulled out a Luxury Ball, ready to send them blasting off. However, the Mankey from earlier ran out and stood in front of Ash's group, glaring angrily at Meowth and the others.
"Hmm? Mankey, what are you doing?"
"Mankey! Mankey!" Mankey looked at Ash's group and gestured for them to step back.
"Boss, he says this is to repay your kindness from earlier."
"Oh? Is that so? Then I'll leave it to you, Mankey." Understanding that this was Mankey returning the favor, Ash didn't stop it and handed the stage over to Mankey to handle.
Misty, however, asked with some concern, "Will it be okay, Ash? Can Mankey beat Team Rocket?"
Ash smiled and said, "Why do you think Mankey wants to repay the favor? I added something extra to its food earlier. Usually, Mankeys move in groups, but this one is different. It's very strong, which is why it dares to travel alone. And I merely helped it break through to the next level just now. Mankey, evolve!"
"Mankey!!"
Hearing Ash's words, Mankey's body emitted the light of evolution. Subsequently, Mankey evolved into Primeape.
"Roar! Roar!"
The evolved Primeape glared fiercely at Team Rocket, and Team Rocket also sensed that things had taken a turn for the worse.
Jessie: "I have a feeling..."
James: "We're going to get a beating..."

"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again~!" x3
"Beautifully done, Primeape." Ash felt very refreshed watching the three of them fly into the sky. Primeape also nodded, in a great mood.
"How about it? Primeape, do you want to travel with me?"
"Roar?" Hearing Ash's words, Primeape froze for a moment, then assumed a battle stance.
Ash waved his hand and said, "Hold on a second. You aren't going to fight while injured, are you? How about we heal you up first before we fight?"
"Roar!" Hearing Ash's proposal, Primeape nodded and subsequently accepted Ash's treatment. After the healing was done, Ash threw his Luxury Ball.
"Come on out, Squirtle."
Squirtle came out and paused for a moment when it saw Primeape, but quickly assumed a battle stance.
"Squirtle, take a deep breath and get into your stance."
Hearing Ash's words, Squirtle immediately took a deep breath. Subsequently, under the astonished gazes of Primeape, Misty, and Brock, Squirtle's aura changed completely...
