Chapter 18: A Mother's Love

Obito and the King walked through the long royal corridors of the palace until they finally reached the Queen's chamber.

The door slowly opened.

The moment the Queen saw her son, she froze.

"Obito…"

Her voice trembled.

In the very next second, tears filled her eyes, and she ran toward him, tightly embracing him.

Obito silently held his mother in his arms.

The Queen could not stop her tears.

Crying, she said,

"Please… don't leave us again."

Silence filled the room.

For the first time in a long while, Obito had no words to say.

The Queen gently held his face in her hands.

"None of this was your fault… but now, don't leave your home again."

Rin was standing nearby.

Seeing the emotional reunion between mother and son brought tears to her eyes as well.

After a moment, the Queen spoke with playful disappointment,

"You sent Rin to me… and went to your father first?"

A faint smile appeared on her face.

"Do you love your father more than your mother?"

Obito smiled softly.

"I love both of you more than anything."

The sincerity in his voice could clearly be felt.

"For me… my family comes before everything else."

Hearing those words, the Queen's eyes became moist once again.

A little later, all of them gathered inside the King's study room.

Royal soldiers stood guard outside the chamber, not allowing anyone to come near.

The atmosphere inside had become much more serious.

Obito explained everything about Wang.

What Wang had done… How the situation had reached this point… And why his marriage was being arranged so quickly.

After listening silently, Obito looked toward the King.

"Father… you already knew all of this, didn't you?"

The King slowly nodded.

"I know what Wang has done."

Then a faint smile appeared on his face.

"But do not worry… both of us will definitely attend our grandson's wedding."

Relief appeared on Obito's face.

"Then come with us now, Dad."

But this time, the King shook his head.

"No… I cannot leave right now."

Silence filled the room.

The King walked toward the window and stared into the distant sky.

"We must prepare for the operation regarding the disturbance beyond the sea."

The firmness of a true ruler had returned to his voice.

"I must personally oversee all preparations."

Then a dangerous seriousness appeared in his eyes.

"If there is truly a threat there… this time, it will be destroyed from its roots."

The atmosphere in the room became heavy.

"I will not allow my family to be placed in danger again."

Obito remained silent for a few moments.

Then he spoke firmly,

"Dad… I should be part of this operation too."

The King immediately turned toward him.

"So that I can personally destroy that threat myself."

The next moment—

"No!"

The King's furious voice echoed throughout the room.

Rin and the Queen were startled.

Fear and anger were both visible in the King's eyes.

"If you lose control in anger again… you will not be able to control your powers!"

Silence spread through the room.

Obito slowly clenched his fists.

Then, in a calm but determined voice, he said,

"No, Dad… this time, it won't happen again."
