Chapter 16:The Beginning of the War
The grand gates of the palace slowly opened, as if a secret buried for centuries was finally taking a breath again. As the doors fully parted, a majestic yet solemn scene appeared before Obito and Rin.
On the other side, royal soldiers stood in perfect rows. Their weapons gleamed under the light, and an unusual, silent power filled the atmosphere. As the commander stepped forward, all the soldiers bowed in unison and saluted.
"Welcome back, Crown Prince!"
The voice echoed throughout the grand hall.
Obito silently nodded, but his eyes were lost in the vastness of the palace. The towering ceilings, the ancient war paintings on the walls, and the mysterious energy surrounding everything—it all pulled him in at once.
This was the same palace…
Where he had spent the most beautiful moments of his life.
As he walked forward, his steps suddenly slowed. A wave of memories struck his heart—moments spent with his parents, the King and Queen… laughter, joy, and carefree days.
For a moment, his heart weakened. His eyes became moist…
But in the very next second, he composed himself.
He was no longer a child.
A serious expression returned to his face.
While walking, he asked the commander, "Where are the King and Queen?"
The commander immediately replied with respect, "The King is currently in a meeting with the ministers, and the Queen is likely in her chamber, Crown Prince."
Obito remained silent for a few moments, as if making a decision. Then, in a determined tone, he said, "Take me to the meeting room… and escort the princess to the Queen."
Hearing this, the commander suddenly stopped. A slight hesitation appeared on his face.
"Crown Prince… the King has clearly ordered that no one is allowed to enter the meeting room without permission."
For a few moments, silence filled the air.
Rin quietly looked at Obito, as if she could feel the emotions within his heart.
Obito took a deep breath and calmly said, "Alright… I'll wait outside the room."
The commander was stunned.
"Sir… you are the Crown Prince. How can you wait?"
A strange seriousness and depth appeared in Obito's eyes.
"Besides… Father—the King—already knows that I have returned to the world of Ahnes today."
With that, he began walking toward the meeting room door.
With every step, his heartbeat grew faster…
As if he was getting closer to a truth he himself was unaware of.
He stopped in front of the door.
Faint voices could be heard from inside—the ministers discussing something, the intensity of a debate… and a tone filled with concern.
Obito closed his eyes for a moment…
And then—
A sentence from beyond the door reached his ears:
"If the Crown Prince finds out the truth… it will be impossible to stop the First Great War."
Obito's eyes snapped open.
"The First… Great War?"
A wave of unease rushed through his heart.
This was no longer just a meeting—
It was the doorway to his destiny.
And behind that door…
