Now, back at the base of the juries of death, the meeting was over within two hours. Johan explained his plan; he told them what he would do if Noah attacked. He instructed them about what they will need to do if Noah attacks the base or what they will need to help him with if Noah directly attacks him.
All the black card juries went their own ways after the meeting was over; Johan went to the entrance of the mall to get his umbrella. ...but as it got stolen, the entire rack where the umbrellas were was missing from the place.
Johan was forced to run back home in the rain without any umbrella or a raincoat (poor guy). He quickly changed his clothes and went back to sleep; there was still no message from his mom.
The next day, he decided to relax all day; he worked out a bit to get in shape. Then in the afternoon, Anna called. She called him to ask if he wanted to join her for a hangout tomorrow. Johan was bored and wanted to relax too, so he decided to agree to going out with her. He thought that the other two will be coming as well.
Before he realised it was already night, his mother had still not replied to his voicemails that he had sent before. He was a bit worried now, especially because of the recent incidents and particularly of Noah Wills; if his identity got leaked, then his friends and his mother would be the primary targets.
He called her once again, but there was again no reply. He then remembered that she had once given him a card which had the phone number of the company she was working at. He decided to call the number immediately; he only wanted to know whether his mother was still at work. He didn't want to bother her while she was working.
The moment he called, the receiver immediately picked up. Before the person on the other side could speak, Johan spoke up.
"Hello!? Uhm… I would like to know if Miss Svenja Jäger is at her workplace... I am her son."
There was a lady at the other end that told him to wait for a minute and then confirmed to him that his mother was indeed still at the workplace.
Johan didn't ask anything else and just thanked her before ending the call.Johan was now a bit relieved after hearing that her mother was still at the workplace. Even though Johan didn't think much of Noah in terms of his prowess and strength, his political powers and influence as a world's top ten could easily help him to erase anyone he wants, and no one would question anything.
But now, after knowing that she was at her workplace, he could sleep without any fear. He decided to get some proper rest for the upcoming days, as he and the organisation don't know when Noah will attack.
The next morning, the sunlight hit him in the face, which made him wake up. He saw the time and realised that he had overslept; his friends will be coming to his doorstep any moment now. He quickly brushed his teeth and changed his clothes; he decided that he will take a bath later. Just when he was about to go to the kitchen to make some coffee, the doorbell rang; his friends had arrived a few minutes early. Johan then went to open the door.
"Uh... Ehm! Yeah, why don't you all come inside for a cup of coffee? I, uhh... I overslept... sorry."
Johan told them with a nervous look on his face because his friends get really angry when Johan delays their plan. (Crazy how a guy who is completely okay with fighting a monster who is considered more terrifying than a nuke fears his friends)
"Your lazy ass never wakes up on time, does it?" Said Irina to him with an angry look on her face.
"You better make it quick; Anna already reserved the seats for us in a lavish restaurant yesterday. We only have an hour left to reach there." Hans told Johan.
They entered in the house. Then Johan asked Anna directly.
"A lavish restaurant? Why though? We could have gone to a normal, affordable restaurant." Anna was about to speak, but Irina spoke up instead.
"Well...yesterday I saw Anna going in that lavish restaurant, so I followed her inside. The look on her face was hilarious when she saw me following; I almost burst out laughing at her face.
She was at first booking the seats for two people only, but then she booked for all of us when I caught her."
(This happened a few moments after Anna had called Johan for hanging out; you all can probably figure out the rest.)
Johan asked if she was the one who paid for the reservation. Then Irina told him that she paid for the reservation, but they will pay for the bill on her behalf. After drinking coffee, they immediately went towards the restaurant. They arrived on time, they sat at their table and ordered food.
Anna was angry; she was visibly angry. They were able to tell by the way she was continuously devouring all the expensive dishes. They were absolutely shocked by her, but they were scared as well. They were scared about how much the bill would be.
Then Irina stood up right after they had finished their food and acted like she needed to use the restroom. She went to the restroom, which was far out of their sight, but she never returned. Hans also made the excuse of going to look for her but never returned.
They had indeed run away, leaving Anna and Johan to pay the bill. The worst part was that Anna didn't bring money, as she wanted to take her revenge on Hans and Irina; her plan was to make Johan go back home and make them pay in his stead as well. But... Things never go as planned; she was now feeling terrible because... Johan was the only one who could pay now.
Apparently Johan had earned quite a fortune killing power users, so when the bill came, he paid without any problem, but Anna was feeling terrible.They both walked to Johan's house together.
Anna kept calling Hans and Irina; she was so angry at them that she was going to murder them without any guilt. Johan knew she was angry, so he decided to lighten her mood.
"Uhhh... The food was delicious and the...place was beautiful...Don't worry about them; they will say sorry for sure and pay back their share of the bill too."
This did lighten her mood a little, but she was still feeling guilty for eating like a cow and then making Johan pay for it.
"I am very sorry, Johan. If I see those bastards, I will break their noses and mouths." She said while clenching her fists.
"Calm down now; they must be feeling bad as well," replied Johan.
And before they knew it, they had reached Johan's house. Anna wanted to talk to him more, but dumbass Johan couldn't take obvious hints. Johan went back to his house, and Anna left while he was opening the door.
Then in the evening, Hans called; his voice sounded like he was being held at gunpoint to apologise. Anna had gone directly to their homes and 'scolded' them mercilessly. Johan told him that he didn't mind at all, and with that, the day ended.
Since Anna was still angry with Hans and Irina even after them going to her house numerous times, the entire week they didn't make any plans to go anywhere else; Johan spent his days mostly at the base of 'The Juries Of Death'. After a day they had gone to the restaurant. Johan's mother called and told him that she will be back next month, as she was in Seoul. She promised that she will be back before his birthday.
And then after the week, Noah Wills had finally arrived at Berlin; his entrance was not a discreet one. The moment he stepped foot in Berlin, he went to the most famous landmark and the most crowded place in Berlin, the Brandenburg Gate.
The survivors later described that they saw a devil in human skin, floating in the air, and the next thing they saw was the Brandenburg Gate cut into numerous halves and invisible slashes that diced people. The only way to describe the scene in one word was 'chaos'.
