Chapter 4 - Volume 3: The Silence Before the Storm

Chapter 1: The Fairy and the Womanizer

The party was a tedious affair. I stood there like a trophy, greeting guests whose names I didn't care to remember. Every wealthy family was there, parading their daughters in hopes of catching my eye. It was suffocatingly boring—until she arrived.

Mo Yue entered like a heroine from an ancient scroll, wearing a classic Chinese dress that made her look like a celestial fairy. For a moment, even I, the Great Villain, was speechless.

On stage, my father, Long Fang, announced my marriage to the cheering crowd. "Today, my son chooses his bride!"

I stepped forward, my voice calm but firm. "I seek a love marriage. I will get to know everyone first."

Later, in the gardens, Mo Yue approached me with a playful smile. "Congratulations, everyone wants to marry you," she teased. "So, who is the lucky girl?"

"You haven't answered my questions yet," I countered, leaning closer. "Maybe I should just pick one of them."

She pinched me, her eyes flashing. "You're just a womanizer!"

"Jealous?" I whispered, grasping her hand. Without another word, I whisked her away to my sanctuary.

Chapter 2: The Sovereign's Grave

We stood atop the Sovereign's Grave. At 10,000 meters high, the air is thin, and the stars feel close enough to touch. This mountain has stood for tens of millions of years; even a 9th-Realm cultivator cannot reach its peak, held back by the ancient pressure left by a Supreme who once lived here.

Mo Yue looked at the view, her eyes wide with wonder, before eventually drifting off to sleep. I watched over her until dawn. The next morning, I woke to the smell of something burning. My "fairy" had tried to cook, and the results were... disastrous. I dropped her off at home with a smile and returned to my own.

Chapter 3: The Crimson Betrayal

At home, my parents were whispering. When they saw me, they asked directly: "Do you like someone? Which family?"

"The Mo family," I replied simply.

Soon after, a message arrived from Gu Chen. He wanted to meet. I sensed a trap immediately. I went to the meeting point—empty. I called him via spiritual stone; he redirected me to his house. Empty again.

Panic, a feeling I hadn't felt in lifetimes, flared up. I rushed back home.

My home was a battlefield. Gu Chen and his father, Gu Tian, were leading a cowardly assault on my parents. Before I could reach them, the cowards fled, but Gu Lan—Gu Chen's mother—wasn't fast enough. She died by my hand in the chaos.

"I swear," I roared, the sky darkening above us, "I will kill them both. There will be no mercy."

Chapter 4: The Game Begins

Other families arrived, helping to heal the wounded. Using my true power, I restored my people in seconds. They asked what happened, but I was done talking.

I had tried to look weak. I had tried to play their social games. But this world doesn't want a peaceful Long Wei. It wants a monster.

I am only one step away from becoming a Supreme Being, but even now, I am more powerful than any Supreme this world has ever seen. The pretending is over. The real game begins now.
