"So, he caught your eye too. Huh?"
He laughed.
Like a maniac.
Doctor Anika entered the room as Daniel was finally Visible across the white room with nothing but soft walls and a soft white light that was on the other side of the glass.
A man sat there in the middle.
His gray hair shined like silver and his green eyes shined like emeral.
The doctor wasn't shocked when he called her name or talked about who she met.
She placed the file on a chair and talked into the mic.
Anika:"You seem to have already Resonated with that kid, huh."
Daniel laughed.
Louder.
Daniel:"Why not?"
"He's me."
"He's the person I've been looking for so long."
"The perfect human vessel."
Anika rolled her eyes and switched on a button that sent a screeching loud sound to Daniel's room.
Making him suffer in pain.
She stopped it as he took a moment to recover and started laughing again.
"What?"
"That's all for today?"
"Haha~, usually you are more torturous than this."
Anika:"Shut up."
"You're not a ghost or entity."
"Stop thinking like you can switch bodies whenever you want."
Daniel stared at her through the glass.
Like—
Calling her childish without words.
Daniel:"Anika, Anika, Anika."
"Just why is it."
"That."
"You think."
"I can't switch?"
He started laughing.
The smile spread ear to ear on his face.
Yet—
Not a single muscle twitched when he laughed.
A bead of sweat rolled down Anika's forehead as she narrowed her eyes and was about to ask something.
But—
"I know what you're thinking."
"Every time there's a patient with PTSD, Dual personality or symptoms similar to—"
"Maladaptive duality disorder."
"I always know when a person like that comes here."
"Not because it means I want them as my vessel."
"But, because they are all same as me."
"Every human have me inside them."
"You, your colleagues, your family, all of you."
"There's a part of your brain."
"That is ruled by me, and—"
"I control your dreams."
Anika clicked on her tongue.
She turned the sonic sound on and left the room.
Leaving Daniel suffer in the extreme pressure of sound.
She locked the room gave the key to the janitor.
Anika:"Dispose of his body after 30 minutes."
The janitor stared at her in confusion.
He looked at the key.
Then at her.
Back at the key.
Then again at her and tilted his head.
Janitor:"huh?"
He took a moment before hesitantly going to open the door.
The moment he saw Daniel jumping around and smashing his head on to the padded walls while covering his ears.
The blood leaking out from both his ears, mouth and nose.
The janitor froze in pure fear.
Not sure why the doctor left him to dispose of this person who is not even dead.
Or—
She wanted to dispose the body after he's dead?
Daniel screamed as his nerves popped out of his neck, forehead and hands.
His body started to tremble weirdly as he suddenly started to laugh while punching himself.
The blood leaked out of his eyes too.
He started scratching his face.
Digging his nails into his skin.
One of the nerve of his forehead got cut by his nail and started to bleed profusely.
Yet—
He scratched even more.
More.
More.
And even more harder.
Until his skull was visible on his forehead.
And.
He was still laughing.
The janitor was stunned frozen.
He wanted to puke but his body refused to move at all.
He tried everything he could to move his body.
But—
He only managed to stumble and fall down.
The mop rod in his hand fell down and turned the sonic sound button off.
The moment the sonic sound stopped.
Daniel slowly stopped scratching himself.
But his smile stayed.
His breathing heavy.
But the smile didn't waver an inch.
He turned to look at the glass and saw the janitor fallen by the door.
He walked closer to the glass wall and stamped his bloodied hand on it.
The janitor tried to push himself back.
But his muscles were stiff.
And.
His eyes refused to look away from the horror in front of him.
The human face with half of his skull face visible.
Daniel stared into his eyes and suddenly both of them collapsed.
The janitor slowly woke up and rested himself onto his knees.
And—
He started chuckling.
His eyes.
Emerald green.
"I am coming~"
{Meanwhile at Varun's home.}
His father didn't tell what happened to his mom.
Not only because she can't handle it.
But.
Because she was already in a bad shape because Varun was missing for hours.
She had been keeping him in a embrace ever since he returned home.
And—
He didn't understand why he's getting that treatment.
His brother was in other room, trying to calm himself down and forget what he saw there.
The father was outside of the house.
Taking calls and talking about the bodies and possible causes of their deaths.
After few minutes.
Varun finally managed to get his mom off himself and went to the rooftop.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
The cold breeze mixed with moisture from rain hit his face and rolled down his cheeks.
The smell of soil filled his nostrils as he thought back about the scene he just vitnessed.
He didn't know who did it.
But—
He couldn't forget it.
He tightened a fist as a load of saliva formed in his throat.
Varun:"gulp~"
He opened his eyes and looked down at the street.
His father pacing around while talking on the phone.
A few officers taking the address of their house.
The water flowing to both sides of the streets and going into gutters.
The school bell rang as the students from the school started to leave slowly and making sure not to slip.
He looked at it all.
Not knowing why.
But—
He still looked.
Observed.
Every single thing.
Like—
He knows something is wrong.
But—
Doesn't know with what.
On the end of the street.
A pair of feet stepped next to the school.
The hood of the rain coat hid most of his face.
Varun saw his from the side of his eyes.
Not because he was visible through the crowd.
But.
Because his eyes were shining emerald even from the distance close to 100 meters.
