Chapter 60 - Chapter 60 – Sparring with the Future Magneto

"Eric… are you sure about this?"

Rorschach looked at the man standing firmly in front of him and raised an eyebrow.

If Eric really wanted a serious fight, then frankly speaking, he was asking for trouble.

"I'm very sure," Eric replied without hesitation.

His voice carried a firm determination that hadn't been there before.

"Charles's training might help the others, but it won't help me anymore. I've reached a bottleneck."

His eyes flashed with a new intensity.

The battle with the fake Black Emperor had clearly shaken him deeply.

Facing the real Shaw and losing was one thing.

But failing to defeat even a fake version of Shaw?

That humiliation had left a mark.

"So I need you to treat me like a real enemy," Eric continued.

"Attack me. Don't hold back."

Rorschach hesitated slightly.

He understood Eric's intention perfectly.

Eric wanted to force himself forward through real combat. Only a life-or-death struggle could break through the limits he was currently stuck at.

The idea itself wasn't wrong.

But Eric had made one serious mistake.

He had chosen the wrong opponent.

With Rorschach's current strength, if he truly fought as if Eric were an enemy, Eric might not survive five seconds.

Still…

Rorschach thought for a moment.

Eric's ability actually made him a fairly safe opponent.

At worst, he could always control metal to defend himself.

Besides, it might be a good opportunity to test something else.

Practicing heat vision against flying tennis balls every day was starting to get boring.

"Alright," Rorschach said finally.

"I'll help you."

Eric's face immediately brightened with excitement.

The two of them walked toward the training field.

Eric had already prepared the area beforehand.

Scattered around the field were steel pipes, metal rods, iron tables, broken chairs, and even a few heavy I-beams. The sheer amount of metal looked almost excessive.

But for Eric, it was perfect.

Buzz.

He lifted his hand slightly.

Every piece of metal rose into the air at once.

They hovered behind him like a formation of obedient soldiers waiting for orders.

The sight looked incredibly dramatic.

Rorschach couldn't help thinking that Eric's power was perfect for showing off.

"Rorschach," Eric said, eyes burning with fighting spirit. "Are you ready?"

He hadn't experienced a real battle in quite some time.

Although he had failed against Shaw, Eric was still one of the stronger mutants around. Very few people could challenge him.

"Go ahead," Rorschach said casually, curling a finger toward him.

"Start whenever you want."

Outside the training field, voices suddenly began whispering.

"Has it started yet?"

"Move over! I can't see!"

"Hey, don't push!"

Havok, Sean, Raven, and the rest of the young mutants had gathered outside the field like hungry wolves.

Eric versus Rorschach.

How could anyone miss a fight like that?

If they skipped it, they would regret it forever.

Even the normally calm Darwin and Hank had abandoned their composure, pushing each other around for a better view.

The crowd was chaotic and noisy.

"What are you all doing here?"

A voice suddenly appeared behind them.

Everyone froze.

Charles stood there, staring at the group.

The mutants in the back panicked and tried to step away, which caused the ones in front to lose their balance.

A chain reaction followed.

A whole row of people collapsed forward and fell flat on the ground.

The scene looked like a pile of bodies after a clumsy dogfight.

"Charles… uh… we were just looking around," Sean said awkwardly.

"We were just passing by," Havok added with a forced grin.

Raven glanced toward the field dramatically.

"Oh! Rorschach and Eric are here too? What a coincidence!"

Eric: "…"

Rorschach: "…"

The acting was terrible.

If you couldn't act convincingly, you really shouldn't try.

Charles ignored their excuses.

He stepped forward and looked into the training ground.

When he saw Eric and Rorschach facing each other, the situation became obvious.

Charles frowned.

Then he said something completely unexpected.

"Why didn't anyone tell me about something this interesting?"

He sounded genuinely annoyed.

The young mutants instantly brightened.

Since Charles had no intention of stopping them, they rushed inside openly.

"Come on, start already!"

"Eric, don't lose too badly!"

"Maybe he can break Rorschach's undefeated record!"

"Yeah… although that seems unlikely."

The group shouted excitedly from the side.

Eric shook his head helplessly.

"These guys…"

Then he focused his attention back on Rorschach.

"Rorschach," he said calmly, "I'm starting."

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

The metal objects behind him suddenly shot forward.

Steel pipes, rods, and beams flew through the air like a violent storm aimed straight at Rorschach.

Rorschach's eyes glowed red.

A beam of heat vision flashed out instantly.

Tzz!

The first steel pipe was struck midair and flipped away violently.

Then the red beams fired again and again.

One piece of flying metal after another was knocked aside.

But Eric had prepared too many weapons.

Even with Rorschach's speed, it was impossible to intercept them all in such a short moment.

Fortunately, that didn't matter.

Boom.

Rorschach threw a casual punch.

The fist collided with an incoming I-beam nearly three meters long.

The massive metal beam was blasted away instantly.

"Rorschach!" Eric shouted from the opposite side. "Show your real strength!"

"You're looking down on me!"

Rorschach sighed.

What could he do if Magneto was practically begging for a beating?

Fine.

He would give him what he wanted.

Rorschach stepped forward.

Then he rushed straight into the storm of metal.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Metal crashed together violently.

Rorschach moved through the flying debris like a human tank.

To anyone watching, the swarm of metal looked terrifying.

But the moment Rorschach charged into it, everything changed.

The objects were blasted away as if caught in a tornado.

None of them even managed to touch him.

Steel rods, pipes, beams—every piece of metal that approached him was sent flying backward with overwhelming force.

The watching mutants swallowed nervously.

Rorschach's body was simply ridiculous.

It wasn't even a fight.

It was like watching a bulldozer drive straight through a pile of scrap metal.
