Chapter 22 - NORMAL HVIS DAY

Morning sunlight spilled through the tall windows of Keifer's house, lighting up polished floors, scattered slippers, and the faint scent of burnt toast lingering from last night's breakfast attempts. The cheerful clatter of pans came from the kitchen, where the maid, always patient, was preparing a full breakfast for the household.

"Breakfast is ready!" she called, placing plates of eggs, toast, and fresh juice on the table.

Jay yawned as she descended the stairs, brushing a strand of hair from her face. Living with Keifer was a new experience, and mornings were already chaotic, thanks to his two younger brothers.

Keigen, the middle brother, was carefully balancing a plate of eggs while trying not to spill his orange juice. "Almost… nailed it," he muttered, frowning in concentration.

Keiran, the smallest, darted around Keigen's legs, giggling as he tried to swipe a piece of toast from the table. "Mine! Mine!" he squeaked.

Jay laughed, swooping in to grab the toast before Keiran could snatch it. "Hey! No chaos before I even eat!"

Keifer appeared behind her, still half-asleep but smirking. "I warned you living here would be lively."

"It's chaos, not lively," Jay said, rolling her eyes. She glanced at the maid, who only smiled knowingly.

The three boys—Keifer, Keigen, and Keiran—sat down together, while Jay took the seat closest to Keifer. The smallest, Keiran, kept making faces and poking Keigen, who retaliated with exaggerated eye-rolls. Keifer shook his head, placing a comforting hand on Jay's shoulder. "Don't worry. This is normal," he said.

Jay smirked, leaning into him. "Normal chaos, maybe."

Breakfast finished, the group prepared for school. Jay slung her bag over her shoulder, Keifer held hers' gently in one hand, and the brothers trailed along, bickering and teasing one another.

By the time they reached HVIS, whispers and excited murmurs had already spread through the halls. Cameras flashed as students recognized Jay, CEO, K-pop idol, and mafia queen, walking hand-in-hand with Keifer Watson. Keigen strutted confidently, trying to act mature, while Keiran tripped on his shoelace, earning laughter from everyone around.

Jay waved. "Morning, everyone!"

Keifer remained stoic, walking close beside her, though his hand brushed hers occasionally. Section E followed behind, teasing relentlessly.

"Look at them! PDA central!" MJ whispered to Kevin.

Jay smirked. "Jealous much?"

Kevin muttered, "Not… at all," failing to hide his grin.

Class began with its usual chaos. The Havoc and The Apex bickered over desks and seating arrangements, whispering strategies for upcoming projects. Jay effortlessly balanced her laptop, notebooks, and a stray textbook in one hand while her other hand scribbled notes.

"Jay," Thyme whispered, nudging her, "you're going to top the class again, aren't you?"

Jay shrugged. "I just… like knowing things."

Keifer leaned close, voice low. "You like knowing things? You own everything."

"Someone has to keep you in line," Jay teased.

He tried to argue but the teacher's gaze silenced him, and Jay smiled smugly.

Lunch was pure chaos. Section E had claimed a long table in the garden. MJ produced a deck of cards.

"Truth or Dare!" he shouted.

Immediately, pandemonium ensued.

Thyme dared Kevin to eat a slice of raw lemon. Kevin gagged, waving his hands, while Keiran, the smallest, clapped his hands and squealed, "He's dying! He's dying!"

Keigen tried to calm him but ended up laughing instead.

Keifer smirked at Jay. "Truth or Dare?"

Jay crossed her arms. "Truth."

"Ever been scared of something silly?" he asked, raising a brow.

"I am not scared of anything silly!" Jay replied defensively.

MJ snorted. "Ghosts. You're scared of ghosts."

Jay froze. "Excuse me?!"

Keifer chuckled. "Halloween last year. You screamed like a banshee in front of the haunted house."

Jay groaned, hiding her face behind her hands.

Keiran squeaked from the table. "She's scared!"

Jay glared at the tiny brother, then burst out laughing. Even Keifer shook his head, trying not to smile.

After lunch, the group moved outside for games. The garden quickly became a battlefield of laughter:

Keiran tried a sneaky water balloon attack on Jay but ended up soaked instead.

Keigen teamed up with MJ, targeting Keifer in a playful ambush.

Jay, dripping wet from stray balloons, coordinated her own team, laughing as she dodged attacks.

Keifer joined her, teasing and competing side by side.

Even the reserved members of Section E got involved, laughing and enjoying the chaos. By the end, everyone was soaked, exhausted, and exhilarated.

As the sun began to dip behind the school buildings, the group returned to Keifer's house, still dripping and giggling. The maid had prepared a late afternoon snack of cookies and tea, which everyone devoured. Jay leaned against Keifer on the porch while Keigen and Keiran tumbled around the yard, teasing and joking.

"Days like this…" Jay said softly, resting her head on Keifer's shoulder, "remind me why I fight. Not for battles, not for power, but for moments like these."

Keifer kissed the top of her head. "Yeah. Peace like this… is rare. But it's worth it."

Jay smiled, squeezing his hand as the golden sunlight wrapped around them. For once, there were no enemies, no missions, no danger—just family, friends, love, and perfectly chaotic peace.

And in that warm, lively house, Jay knew she was home.
