The clock continued ticking mercilessly.
00:29
Inside the warehouse, the tension had become unbearable.
Ryan and Arian were trapped behind thick glass chambers. Malik sat tied to the chair in the center of the room, still unconscious.
And Ayesha stood alone in front of the two red levers.
The mastermind's voice echoed through the loudspeakers.
"Twenty seconds, Ayesha."
His tone was calm.
Almost amused.
"Choose wisely."
Ryan slammed his fist against the glass.
"Ayesha, don't do it!"
Arian's voice was steadier, but equally urgent.
"There has to be another way."
Ayesha's breathing became slower.
Controlled.
Her mind was racing faster than ever before.
She looked at the two levers.
Then she looked at the walls.
The ceiling.
The floor.
Every trap had a mechanism.
Every mechanism had a weakness.
The mastermind believed he had predicted every move.
But he had made one mistake.
He had underestimated her.
The Hidden Switch
While the mastermind's attention was focused on the two levers, Ayesha had quietly studied the control panel on the wall.
There it was.
A small metallic panel hidden behind a loose plate.
Barely noticeable.
Probably meant for maintenance.
Or maybe a backup control system.
Either way—
It wasn't part of the mastermind's theatrical trap.
The clock flashed.
00:15
The mastermind spoke again.
"Well?"
Ayesha slowly reached toward the levers.
Ryan closed his eyes.
Arian clenched his jaw.
But then—
At the last second—
Ayesha's hand moved sideways.
She pulled the hidden switch.
Chaos
For a split second…
Nothing happened.
Then suddenly—
The entire warehouse lights flickered violently.
Alarms blared.
The control systems sparked.
Ryan's glass chamber suddenly cracked open.
Arian's barrier lifted halfway.
The mastermind's calm voice suddenly disappeared.
For the first time…
The system was failing.
Ryan burst out of the chamber immediately.
"How the hell did you—"
Arian pushed his door open as well.
"You disrupted the control grid!"
Ayesha rushed toward Malik and untied the ropes.
"He relied on automated systems," she said quickly.
"So I overloaded them."
Ryan laughed breathlessly.
"Remind me never to play chess against you."
The Mastermind Reacts
Suddenly the loudspeakers crackled again.
But this time…
The mastermind's voice wasn't calm anymore.
It was colder.
More dangerous.
"Impressive."
A slow clap echoed through the warehouse.
"You found the third move."
Ayesha looked up toward the security cameras.
"But don't celebrate too early."
Ryan frowned.
"What now?"
The mastermind's voice lowered.
"You've only survived the first test."
Then the lights went completely dark.
A New Threat
Emergency lights flickered on.
Red.
Dim.
Sinister.
Arian checked the scanner device in his hand.
His expression immediately changed.
"We have a problem."
Ryan looked at him.
"What kind of problem?"
Arian turned the screen toward them.
Multiple red dots appeared on the radar.
Moving fast.
Too fast.
Ayesha felt her stomach tighten.
"More operatives?"
Arian shook his head slowly.
"No."
Ryan stared at the screen.
"Then what are they?"
Arian whispered the answer.
"Drones."
The Chase
Suddenly the ceiling doors opened.
Mechanical buzzing filled the air.
Dozens of armed combat drones descended into the warehouse.
Ryan cursed loudly.
"Oh you've got to be kidding me!"
The drones immediately opened fire.
Bullets tore through the metal containers.
Arian grabbed Malik and pulled him toward the exit.
"Move!"
Ayesha sprinted beside them.
Ryan stayed behind for a moment, firing at the drones.
Explosions echoed through the building.
Metal debris flew everywhere.
Finally Ryan ran after them.
The four of them burst out of the warehouse just as the drones swarmed the interior.
They jumped into their vehicle and sped away into the night.
Behind them—
The warehouse exploded in a massive fireball.
Cliffhanger
Minutes later, they finally stopped on a quiet road outside the city.
Malik slowly regained consciousness.
He groaned weakly.
"What… happened?"
Ryan leaned back in the seat.
"You missed the fun part."
Arian looked at Ayesha.
"You saved all of us."
But Ayesha wasn't smiling.
Because her phone suddenly vibrated.
A new message appeared.
Unknown sender.
She opened it slowly.
Three words appeared on the screen.
"Level Three Begins."
Below the message was a single image.
A photograph.
Of Ayesha's childhood home.
Her blood ran cold.
Because beneath the image was another message.
"Your past… is the key to everything."
And suddenly Ayesha realized something terrifying.
The mastermind didn't just know her present.
He knew her entire life.
