The Second Hokage appeared like a phantom in the heart of the Sand encampment. The Bringer-of-Darkness Jutsu expanded instantly, plunging the area into a hundred-meter void of absolute obsidian. Aki and the nine Anbu struck like ghosts, slaughtering the blinded Sand sentries in seconds before surging toward the command center.
Because the Sand had committed their main forces to the front lines to meet the two Leaf armies, their rear was dangerously hollow. Tobirama utilized his peerless sensory abilities to pinpoint the Kazekage's chakra. This was the moment for the Decapitation Strike.
The Second Kazekage sensed the approaching storm. He stood slowly, looking toward the dark horizon, and spoke to Ebizō. "Ebizō, take command of the main army. You must crush those two Leaf divisions at any cost! Even if I fall to Tobirama Senju, you must ensure he stays here to be buried with me. Do you understand?"
Ebizō opened his mouth to protest, but the Kazekage cut him off. "General against general, King against King. If I show cowardice now, this war is already over." With that, he strode out to meet his destiny.
Tobirama moved through the Sand ranks with terrifying efficiency; no one could withstand a single strike. Eventually, the Sand shinobi began to retreat in terror, clearing a path. Suddenly, a massive blade of wind tore through the air toward the Hokage.
Tobirama sneered, flickering away. "Still hiding in the shadows like a coward? A weakling is a weakling, regardless of the title you've managed to claim. You will never defeat me."
"Water Style: Hard Whirlpool Water Blade!"
A massive vortex of pressurized water formed in Tobirama's hand, shattering the incoming wind blade and surging toward the Sand crowd. A man wearing the ceremonial Kazekage hat appeared, his hands weaving signs. "Wind Style: Great Wind Cutter!" Powerful air currents neutralized the water blade in a spray of mist.
The Second Kazekage threw his hat to the ground. "Tobirama Senju, it has been a long time."
Tobirama crossed his arms, looking down at the Kazekage with pure disdain. "A failure like you actually became the Kazekage? It seems the Land of Wind has truly run out of talent if they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for you."
The Kazekage didn't take the bait. He smiled sadly. "You're still as blunt as ever. It's a miracle you've lived this long without your brother to protect you."
"The First Kazekage was a man I respected," Tobirama countered. "I nearly died by his hand. You, however, lack the spine. Are we doing this as an army, or do you have the courage for a duel? Weakling."
The Kazekage's expression turned solemn. "My greatest regret is wasting my youth instead of mastering my predecessor's arts. But today, I stand here not as an inferior, but as a challenger. This will be a fight to the death."
Tobirama's posture shifted. The mockery vanished. "Fine. Then let us have a fair duel." He performed a hand seal, and the rainy sky suddenly cleared, as if the heavens themselves were making room for the spectacle.
The battle was a masterclass in elemental mastery. Tobirama flickered beside the Kazekage, his hands transformed into high-pressure water blades. The Kazekage dissolved into a gust of wind, reappearing with a massive iron fan that he slammed into the earth.
"Wind Style: Thousand Wind Blades!"
A tempest of air currents forced Tobirama to use the Flying Raijin to reposition. He retaliated with "Water Style: Giant Waterfall!" A wall of water crashed down, but the Kazekage countered with "Earth Style: Great Swamp of the Underworld," turning the terrain into a churning sea of mud that swallowed the waterfall.
"You've improved," Tobirama admitted. "But it's time for the real thing. Eight Inner Gates: Gate of Opening... OPEN!"
Tobirama's chakra exploded, coating him in a violent blue aura. He surged forward with blinding speed. The Kazekage unfurled his iron fan, unleashing a hurricane, but Tobirama roared: "Gate of Healing... OPEN! Gate of Life... OPEN!" The sheer pressure of his chakra shattered the hurricane.
The Kazekage used a forbidden Petrification Technique, hardening his skin to stone as he charged into a Taijutsu clash. Tobirama's fists moved like lightning, each strike cracking the Kazekage's stone shell, eventually launching him across the field with a devastating kick.
Ebizō watched the battlefield, his heart heavy. If only my sister were here... our six thousand are being routed by barely fifteen hundred Leaf ninja. I hope the Kazekage wins, or we lose everything.
Hiruzen Sarutobi was a blur of motion, his Adamantine Staff sweeping through the Sand ranks. However, Ebizō's tactical genius began to show. A group of Sand ninja successfully trapped Hiruzen within an "Earth Style: Iron Prison." As he tried to extend his staff to escape, a barrage of Wind and Earth jutsu forced him back down.
Homura Mitokado noticed the shift. "They have a master strategist on the field. Hiruzen is in trouble. I'll go support him; Koharu, keep the pressure on the main force!"
The Final Breath
The Kazekage lay half-kneeling in a crater, gasping for air. "Why... why is the gap so wide? Tobirama's Taijutsu is unstoppable. Is the Land of Fire truly blessed by the gods?"
Tobirama stood over him, water blades still humming in his hands. "I admit you are a Kage-level fighter. But my Eight Gates technique pushes me beyond your limits. We no longer have my brother or Madara, but Konoha is still beyond your reach. Surrender. I would rather the Sand keep a worthy leader than lose him to a pointless death."
The Kazekage thought of his village, his family, and the legendary Chiyo. He stood up, smiling through the blood. "Our future doesn't need a coward like me. I will defend our glory with my life!"
He lunged at Tobirama in a suicidal charge. Tobirama didn't hesitate. "Flying Raijin: Slash!" His water blade tore through the Kazekage's chest. But the Kazekage ignored the wound, grabbing Tobirama's arms and leaping into the sky. "Wind Style: Great Tornado!"
The two spiraled toward the earth at terminal velocity. Tobirama used "Water Style: Clear Wave" to cushion the impact, then delivered a series of bone-shattering punches that drove the Kazekage deep into a massive pit.
"You were a worthy opponent," Tobirama said, raising his hand to deliver the final blow.
Suddenly, a monstrous roar shook the Land of Rain. A mountain of sand erupted nearby as a gargantuan beast manifested.
"The One-Tailed Shukaku?" Tobirama looked up in shock. "You actually learned to control it?"
Before he could react, a puppet swung a blade at him, forcing him to retreat behind a Water Wall. When the mist cleared, a young woman stood before him. Ten puppets hovered around her—one had already hoisted the dying Kazekage onto its back.
The Kazekage looked up weakly. "Chi... yo... why are you here? Go... leave me..."
