There was no warning, just a massive, bone-jarring impact as a heavy-duty transport truck roared out of a side intersection, T-boning us at full speed.


It slammed through my side with the force of a falling mountain. The sound of twisting metal and shrieking rubber filled my ears as the sedan was tossed across the asphalt like a toy. 


My head slammed against the reinforced window frame, a flash of white-hot light exploding behind my eyes.


The air was ripped from my lungs as the door crumpled inward, the safety frame screaming under the pressure of several tons of moving steel


The world spun in a dizzying blur of black and gray as the car rolled. Gravity became a suggestion as the reinforced frame of the sedan was tossed like a coin.


My stomach lurched into my throat, but my training kicked in before my brain could even process the scream.


As the car began its second nauseating roll, I pulled my limbs inward, tucking into a tight, defensive ball.
