Horobi and the others were resting inside Horobi's house.
The entire place was unusually quiet.
Horobi lay on the bed, his body still aching from the battle. The fight against Barak had left him heavily injured.
Nearby, Mio was sitting with her arm wrapped in bandages. Liora was also injured and resting on a chair.
From the corner of the room, Mare suddenly complained.
"Why am I the only one lying on the floor like this?"
Mio immediately shouted at him.
"Because you're the least injured!"
Mare made an awkward face and quietly stopped talking.
Meanwhile, Horobi was lost in thought.
He kept remembering the battle with Barak.
Something about it didn't make sense.
Barak had used several spells on him — Awaken Sin and Dominate Person.
Those spells were supposed to control a person's mind.
Yet none of them had worked on him.
Not even a little.
But those same spells had worked normally on the others.
Horobi frowned.
Why didn't they work on me…?
He kept thinking about it.
Liora noticed his expression.
"Horobi… is something wrong?"
Mio also looked worried.
"Master, are you feeling worse?"
Horobi snapped out of his thoughts.
"N-No. I'm fine," he said quickly.
"I was just thinking about Barak."
Mio crossed her arms.
"Forget about him. What happened already happened."
"At least we're all alive."
Horobi nodded.
"Yeah… if Raii hadn't arrived in time… that battle would have ended very differently."
Just then the door opened.
Two people entered the room.
Horobi's parents.
His father Chem and his mother Irish.
Irish immediately rushed to Horobi's side.
"Horobi! Are you alright?"
She carefully checked his injuries.
"You should come home with us for a few days and rest properly."
Horobi shook his head.
"I'm okay, Mom. Don't worry. I'll visit during vacation."
"Besides… how did you even know about this?"
Chem crossed his arms.
"Grand Master Omon contacted us."
"He told us that the Moon Hunters attacked you to capture your dragon."
Horobi looked surprised.
Chem continued calmly.
"Don't worry. I've already spoken with your academy teachers."
"They told me your dragon is extremely rare. Dragon summons themselves are already rare… but yours is even more unique."
Then Chem smiled proudly.
"I'm proud of you, son."
"You'll go far."
Horobi smiled.
"Thank you, Father."
He tried to sit up, but his injuries forced him back onto the bed.
Irish quickly stopped him.
"Don't move. You need rest."
"We'll stay here for a few days."
Horobi sighed.
"You really don't have to worry so much."
Irish shook her head immediately.
"You're still my child."
"You always will be."
For a moment, Horobi remembered his mother from his previous life.
A strange feeling passed through his heart.
Quietly, he whispered,
"Sorry…"
Mare suddenly stood up.
"Well… I think this is family time."
"I'll leave now."
He waved and walked out of the room.
Irish then looked toward Liora.
She whispered to Mio.
"Mio… who is that girl?"
"Is she Horobi's girlfriend?"
Liora instantly blushed.
But Mio immediately shouted.
"No! Absolutely not!"
"She's just… someone who happened to be here!"
Liora rolled her eyes.
"Stop getting jealous."
Chem chuckled.
"Alright, everyone. Let them rest."
"We'll be in the other room."
"If you need anything, call us."
Horobi nodded.
"Okay."
His parents left the room.
Academy – Interrogation
Meanwhile, inside the academy…
Grand Master Omon and Raii were interrogating Barak.
Barak was chained to the ground with sealing magic.
Raii looked at him coldly.
"Who told you about Horobi?"
"We believe someone inside the academy may be helping you."
Barak laughed.
"You fools."
"You picked a fight with the wrong people."
"You'll regret this."
"I'll destroy all of you."
Raii frowned.
"Watch your words."
"You're speaking to Lord Omon."
"Do you realize he could kill you in seconds?"
Barak suddenly smiled.
"It's already too late."
A magic circle suddenly appeared beneath him.
Raii's eyes widened.
"Wait!!"
But before they could react,
Barak disappeared.
His voice echoed through the room.
"Tell that boy…"
"His death will come by my hands."
His laughter echoed as the magic circle vanished.
Raii sighed.
"He escaped…"
Omon remained calm.
"It doesn't matter."
"He won't be able to act freely for a while."
"It's already late. Go get some rest."
Horobi's Home – Dinner
Later that evening everyone gathered for dinner.
Irish had prepared a special meal.
While eating, Horobi suddenly spoke.
"Father… I have a question."
Chem looked at him.
"What is it?"
Horobi explained what happened during the fight.
"When Barak used Awaken Sin and Dominate Person… nothing happened to me."
Chem's expression became serious.
"He used those spells on you?"
Horobi nodded.
"Yes. But they didn't affect me at all."
"Even his partner tried something similar."
"But neither me nor Abyss felt anything."
"Could it be something related to our bloodline?"
Chem shook his head.
"That shouldn't be possible."
"But from what you described… it sounds like you have resistance to certain passive control spells."
Horobi frowned.
"But another spell drained all my mana."
Chem asked,
"Do you remember the name of that spell?"
Horobi shook his head.
"No… I was too exhausted."
Chem thought for a moment.
"It could be a limitation."
"Or maybe that spell was simply a much higher level."
"As you grow stronger… your resistance might also grow."
Irish smiled proudly.
"I always knew Horobi was special."
Mio quietly looked down.
She remembered that she was only a maid.
She didn't feel comfortable speaking freely in front of Horobi's parents.
Horobi noticed her silence.
"Thanks, Mio."
"But you're special too."
"At least to me."
Mio smiled happily.
After dinner, everyone returned to their rooms.
A Few Days Later
After several days, Horobi and the others had mostly recovered.
They returned to the academy.
Many students immediately surrounded them.
"Are you guys okay?"
"What happened in the forest?"
Soon Raii entered the classroom.
"Alright, quiet down."
"First, I'll announce the results of the mission."
Two teams had successfully collected three stones.
Team Horobi.
Team Danzo.
Raii continued,
"Team Danzo reported their stones first."
"Team Horobi collected them first."
"But according to the rules… the team that reports first wins."
"The winner is Team Danzo."
The class reacted with surprise.
Raii raised his hand.
"However… Team Horobi also encountered the Moon Hunters."
"If that had not happened, they likely would have won."
"Therefore both teams will receive rewards."
"The rewards will be given during the ceremony."
He then turned toward the class.
"Now…"
"Let's begin training."
"Today we'll focus on Water Magic."
The class finally began.
