Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 – The Legend of the Dragon God

Horobi returned with several magic books in his hands.

He placed them on the table in front of Mio and Liora.

"Here," Horobi said calmly.

"These books will help us a lot. First we will understand them properly, and after that we'll start practicing. It will become easier to control our magic."

Mio's eyes lit up with curiosity.

"Wow… what kind of book is this, Master?"

Horobi opened one of the old dusty books.

"It's a very ancient book. It is said that the writer was an extremely powerful Arch Demon."

"Oh really?" Liora interrupted with excitement.

"Is it really that special? Then I want to read it too."

Meanwhile, Horobi picked another book that was related to dragon summoning. He wanted to learn more about creatures similar to Abyss.

As he flipped through the pages, something interesting caught his attention.

The book spoke about a legendary being…

A Dragon God.

His name was Zerathion.

According to the book, Zerathion possessed the power of every dragon. Among the Eight Gods, he was considered one of the most terrifying beings.

It was said that after the God of Destruction, the one who caused the most devastation in history… was Zerathion.

As Horobi continued reading, the story described events from the Ancient Era.

Ancient Times

A farmer happily looked at his crops.

"This year's harvest is amazing," he said with a smile.

"I'm going to make a lot of money."

But not far from the fields, several men were dragging a young girl by force.

"Help me! Please help me!"

the girl cried.

However, none of the villagers dared to interfere.

One man whispered quietly.

"So… today it's her turn."

At that moment, a mysterious mage passed through the road with several followers.

His presence alone made the air feel heavy.

The mage stopped and looked at the scene.

"What is happening here?"

he asked in a deep voice.

The villager who heard him immediately felt fear.

His voice was calm… but terrifying.

The mage's companion stepped forward and shouted at the kidnappers.

"Stop right there. That girl… my lord wants her."

The kidnappers laughed mockingly.

"Are you crazy? Do you even know who that girl belongs to? She is being taken to Lord Rakan. If he hears this, your heads will be cut off!"

The mage slightly tilted his head.

"My head?" he said calmly.

Then he spoke one word.

"Zudar."

In the next moment, a powerful demon stepped forward instantly.

Before anyone could react—

One of the kidnappers fell to the ground, dead.

Zudar dragged the girl and threw her before his lord.

"My lord,"

he said respectfully.

The mage looked down at the frightened girl.

"You're safe now,"

he said.

"What is your name?"

The girl was trembling in fear.

"My… My name is Liliya. Thank you for saving my life… but who are you?"

The kidnappers shouted angrily.

"Who the hell are you?! You've just invited your own death!"

The mage smiled faintly.

"Death?" he repeated.

"For me… that is a very small matter."

At that moment, Zudar and the others suddenly knelt before him.

"Bow down, fools,"

Zudar said coldly.

"You stand before Lord Zerathion."

The moment they heard the name…

The kidnappers trembled from head to toe.

One of them collapsed instantly just from hearing the name.

Zerathion looked at them with cold eyes.

"So," he said slowly.

"Which one of you said you would kill me?"

The kidnappers immediately fell to their knees.

"Forgive us, my lord! We didn't know it was you!"

Zerathion spoke coldly.

"If you repeat those words again… I will erase your entire bloodline."

One of the men began begging desperately.

"Please forgive me! Lord Rakan ordered us to do this!"

Before he could finish—

One of Zerathion's followers killed him instantly.

"Your life has no value," the demon said coldly.

"How dare you speak directly to Lord Zerathion?"

Zerathion ignored the corpse and looked at Liliya.

"So, Liliya," he said calmly.

"Come with me. I like you."

"I will make you my fourth wife."

Liliya froze in shock.

She didn't know who this man truly was.

But his terrifying aura made it impossible for anyone to even breathe properly.

Zerathion spoke again.

"What happened, my lady?"

"Did those people mistreat you? If you wish… I can destroy their entire kingdom."

Liliya hesitated before asking.

"Can… can you really do that?"

Zerathion smiled.

"For me… that would be a very small task."

Then he said calmly,

"After all… I am the Dragon God."

Liliya's eyes widened.

"The Dragon God…?"

Zerathion nodded.

"If you want revenge… I will give it to you."

Tears filled Liliya's eyes.

"They killed my father… burned my home… and tried to take me away."

Zerathion laughed softly.

"Then let us begin with them."

In the next second—

All the kidnappers fell dead.

Zerathion then said,

"Now… take me to your home."

When they arrived at the village house, people gathered around in shock.

"Isn't that Liliya?"

"She came back?"

Her mother ran forward and hugged her tightly.

"My child! Are you alright?!"

But the villagers began whispering cruel things.

"She was taken by Lord Rakan…"

"What kind of life can she have now?"

Suddenly—

The ground trembled slightly.

Zerathion's cold voice echoed.

"If any of you speak another word…"

"I will kill every single one of you."

The entire village fell silent instantly.

Liliya's mother looked at him nervously.

"W-who are you?"

Before Liliya could answer, Zerathion spoke calmly.

"I am Zerathion, the Dragon God."

Gasps spread across the crowd.

No one dared speak again.

Then Zerathion gave another command.

"Bring me her father's body."

The villagers quickly obeyed.

Moments later, the corpse was brought before him.

Zerathion raised his hand.

A massive magic circle appeared.

Mana flooded the entire area.

Then—

The dead body suddenly breathed again.

Liliya's father slowly opened his eyes.

The villagers were stunned.

For them, it was a miracle.

But for Zerathion…

It was nothing more than a simple spell.
