By the time Salvar dragged himself out of the pool, his arms hurt badly enough that even thinking felt difficult.
Water dripped from his clothes onto the marble floor.
Skyler reacted first.
He shoved both children into Milo's room with surprising efficiency before walking back into the living room where Silas was calmly retrieving his gun while Salvar picked the knife back up from the floor.
Skyler stopped in the middle of the destroyed penthouse.
Broken ceramic.
Scattered dirt.
Water.
Knife.
Gun.
Two visibly unstable men glaring at each other.
Technically, none of this was his business.
As Salvar's employee, he had no authority to interfere in personal matters.
But Skyler looked at the scene once more and mentally threw professionalism into the garbage.
