"Your Highness, our men, they're being tortured by Edmond," Jace revealed immediately Nhel stepped out from speaking with Jasmine.
The general's expression held grief.
Nhel's nails dug into his palms.
"Your Highness, there's no other way. You need to proceed with the marriage with Princess Jasmine. Our men's morale is dwindling fast. We can only hope they don't get wind of what's happening back in Hazucia."
"I've heard what you said," Nhel said through gritted teeth and walked forward. Jace trailed alongside him.
"If you are having doubts doing this because of your wife, I'm positive she won't mind. She knows what's at stake here," Jace said.
Nhel scoffed, this man didn't know what he was talking about.
"Her Highness actually came to me the other day and asked when the King would be giving us reinforcements," he revealed, making Nhel stop in his tracks. "That's why I believe she would understand that there's no other option than this."
